Casa Monasterio San Cristobal is located in the Sierra de Cordoba and only 15 minutes drive to the City Centre.
Very special and maintained with Andalucian Cortijo Architecture House.
Ground Floor consists of 1 Suite with double bed and bathroom, entrance hall, living room with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and WC.
Upstairs to which is accessed through a Torreón is composed of one room with double bed, 1 Bedroom with 2 single beds, bathroom, stove, 1 Suite with double bed, toilet and terrace with spectacular views of Córdoba, Sierra and Countryside River Guadalquivir. You can enjoy a sunset they will not forget.
Doors, windows and grilles are antique, marble and natural clay tile bathrooms and kitchen are completely handmade.
The house has a garden of 2000 m² with native plants, olive and fruit trees, sources with aquatic plants and 2 Patios 1 with BBQ area and another pool area with wonderful views of the city and Sierra. On clear days you can see Sierra Nevada in Granada.
There is a supermarket 500 m and 15 minutes drive Shopping Centers (Carrefour and El Corte Inglés)

Summary: You are high up (500m) which meant it was tolerable even when it was 42C in Cordoba. It also means good views. A family of cats hangs hopefully around the door, doing no harm. The pool is a sensible size and attractively placed: internally, the house has some fittings from an old monastery building and is generally characterful (mind your head if you are tall). The local shop is open at slightly odd hours and has a limited stock but that includes decent bread and fresh vegetables. It is at the crossroads opposite Piscina Assuan, a short walk down the road: the walk is not much fun as there is no pavement, but safe enough because traffic is light and the road is wide. The shop is not visible from the road: go into the courtyard where the signs are and look to the right. Cordoba is ten kilometres away down one of two twisty roads (watch out for cyclists), but you are in the country although there are many other houses nearby. To get to the Medina Al-Zahra you can turn left at the shop and then soft right (signposted Eremitas) and follow the mountain road, off which there is also good walking, rather than go into the city and out again. The practicalities are all well organised: some people might miss an oven. One of the bedrooms is in a separate annex, a few steps from the main building.

Summary: We visited with friends and family during the recent heatwave, we were very grateful for the air conditioning which is modern and efficient in all the bedrooms. The villa is traditional Spanish style with thick walls which keep it cool inside during the heat of the day. We were greeted by Juan and his father - the booking process and arrival were very smooth with easy communications via WhatsApp with Juan, they were very friendly and helpful and brought us pie during our stay. As others have commented we couldn’t use the BBQ during summer due to local fire regs, but we ate all our meals outside- using table, chairs and sunshade - fab. We were surprised that there was no oven available but the kitchen was extremely well equipped with so many gadgets, plates, dishes and glasses to use. The villa is rural - situated about 15 minutes up a winding road from Cordoba (watch out for cyclists). There is a supermarket very close-1km but the road is too dangerous to walk and the offerings very limited. Supermarket (15 mins drive) and hyper market in Cordoba are better options. The pool was lovely and very welcome about 5x3 meters, sun chairs available too. The downstairs bedroom was less clean than the others - it is separate and a little ‘musty’. The upstairs bedrooms all share a bathroom but the hot water never ran out with 5 of us using it. There are some external steps between the patio and pool area with no handrail, but outside is well lit at night. Great views across the whole valley. Overall we had a great stay in Cordoba, thank you for sharing with us.

Summary: Our group of 9 absolutely loved our stay in this charming home. It is very convenient to Cordoba and the views from the pool deck and master bedroom are amazing. The house was very clean and had so much charm. Domingo was also very helpful. Communication was easy and he was quick to respond to questions. Check in was also very easy and we were given a tour with explanation of many features of the property. The hosts also left a welcome gift of a bottle of locally produced olive oil and a locally made pie, which were both delicious and such a nice extra touch of hospitality. The master bedroom, the bedroom with a full bed and twin, and the main floor living room and kitchen areas were all equipped with Air Conditioning. The two other bedrooms upstairs did not have a/c, but the evening air was cool and the screened windows allowed for a nice breeze. Our whole group enjoyed the clean, refreshing pool. There was also a large sunroom with multiple sliding glass doors that open to the pool deck and had several tables and a refrigerator. We ate our evening meal down there both nights that we stayed in the home. We even enjoyed some of the extras like the electric orange juicer. Our kids enjoyed making homemade orange juice from oranges we purchased in town and we all enjoyed drininkg it. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely recommend it to other families!

Summary: Wonderful hosts Juan and his father who both made the holiday one of the best we’ve ever had! The house was beautifully quaint with gorgeous views both day and night. The pool was perfect with amazing views. Everything we needed for our stay was provided, along with extras (a delicious pie and the best olive oil I’ve ever tasted). I would thoroughly recommend this house for a visit to Cordoba. I would definitely stay again given the opportunity.

Summary: We stayed in this beautiful house for a week in October. The house is both gorgeous and comfortable. So much so we didn't want to go out most of the time. Domingo and his son were perfect hosts, greeting us with wine and fruit and even delivering a suitcase that was late in coming. From the beautiful landscaped gardens and patios to the amazing view over Cordoba, the setting is exquisite. The bedrooms were all comfortable and the house was large enough to give 5 adults our space. We barbequed on one patio and had breakfast by the pool every morning. We all highly recommend the house and would love to go back anytime.
