Originally a 16th century farmhouse, Villa Seccarille is situated in the family's estate of over 60 hectares of fields and woodlands, on the lower slopes of the Appennine Mountains. The villa offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains in this wild area of Tuscany and gives a unique sensation of freedom and privacy.
Recently the owners undertook a complete renovation. Brand new, contemporary kitchen, 5 luxurious bedrooms, 5 modern bathrooms, beautiful emerald green marbles, huge windows overlooking the gardens and rolling mountains. The owners have also planted two new gardens, one with 6th century beams as a sunset pergola, to give guests more options for outdoor locations. Very family friendly with Family Room and Family Bathroom, Media Room, cots, high chairs, table tennis, sunken 3 metre trampoline etc.
The property can accommodate up to 11 people and includes a large private swimming pool, lush tropical garden, tennis court and basketball court.The family have olive groves, where they make their own olive oil, and the villa is surrounded by lush flora, including grape and kiwi vines and fig trees.
The villa has 5,000 sqft arranged over two levels and has many terraces, offering a wide choice of sitting and dining areas. In addition there is wireless, subscription satellite television and a fully equipped entertainment area.
There are a wide selection of historic villages and towns to visit in the area, including Caprese Michelangelo, the birthplace of Michelangelo.

Summary: We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Seccarille for holiday this summer and absolutely loved every minute. The villa is beautifully appointed and cared for lovingly. Our children had the time of their lives exploring the property, swimming and making up games on the trampoline - it's very kid friendly! Jeremy, the villa caretaker, is wonderful and has a ton of local knowledge. We enjoyed days trips to Cortona, Arezzo, Sansepolcro, Caprese Michelangelo and Anghiari. We really liked that the towns surrounding the villa were not overrun with tourists. It felt like we were locals by the end of our stay! We also made our way through the suggestions (activities and restaurants) in the villa guestbook and were not disappointed. A highlight of our trip was taking a cooking class just up the hill at Osteria Locanda del Viandante with Santina & Luigi. We also loved the children's fairs every Wednesday night in Anghiari - once in a lifetime experiences and memories we will cherish forever. It truly felt like a dream to listen to music, cook a meal and break bread with our friends at Villa Seccarille. If you have the opportunity to stay here, you must - it is a gorgeous and comfortable place to call home (and the views are spectacular). We cannot wait to return in the future!

Summary: We have just returned from a perfect 3 week holiday in Seccarille, and would happily have stayed longer. The villa had just been renovated, so combined the beauty of an old Tuscan house with fantastic modern touches: air con, beautiful bathrooms, a well stocked kitchen with 2 fridges and 2 dishwashers (perfect for those massive lunches on the terrace!) and bifold doors to open the whole place up. The owners have decorated it beautifully, with great style. The villa is on a hill, so even on the hottest days there’s a breeze. It’s close enough to the town that shopping isn’t a mission, but far enough away for perfect peace. It’s well placed to explore Tuscany/Umbria but if you don’t fancy trudging around a hot town, it’s a great spot to do nothing! We travelled with a mixed group, adults and Children 7-15. There was loads to keep them occupied: massive pool, tennis, table tennis, basketball. Not to mention loads of room to roam. If you are a committed cyclist, there are plenty of places to practice for the Giro d’Italia but be prepared for hills! The owners were great with communication prior to departure and a local caretaker is there to help as much or as little as you like. There are an exhaustive quantity of restaurants in the area, but the welcome pack and Jeremy (the caretaker) point you in the right direction. We’ve stayed in a number of Italian villas over the years, but I have to say Seccarille was perfect. I plan to return!

Summary: We had a superb holiday at Seccarille. The villa is in a beautiful part of north Tuscany with breathtaking views across the forested hills. The villa has a large pool, which everyone loved, with beautiful, immaculately-kept terraces and garden around it. We also made daily use of the villa's tennis court, one of Seccarille's big attractions. Lunches and dinners on the villa's first floor terrace were always magical. Kitchen facilities are great and the villa has everything you need. A gardener keeps everything looking perfect and Jeremy, the friendly local manager, deals with any problems or questions instantly. The bedrooms/bathrooms are a touch dated, but we spent so little time indoors that it did not really matter. Showers are high-pressure, which we thought was the most important thing. There are fantastic walking trails through the hills and it is only a short drive to Anghiari, a delightful walled Tuscan city which has very good restaurants. A perfect all-round holiday. We have rented many villas in Tuscany over the years and this is one we definitely want to go back to. Mark W

Summary: The Villa Secarrille was huge, beautifully furnished and equipped and set in a magnificent location looking down the valley. The pool was enormous and child-safe without any ugly, obvious fencing. Basketball court. tennis court, table tennis, sunken trampoline ... We loved it and will definitely consider going back

Summary: We have just returned from a fantastic holiday in this beautiful villa. It is very spacious and the grounds are stunning. There's plenty to keep the children amused with tennis, basketball, a large swimming pool and well equipped media room.The villa has a brand new fully equipped kitchen for those that like to cook and a fabulous terrace to dine on. The bedrooms are all very comfortable with plenty of space for storage. While this villa is perfect for a relaxing holiday just sitting by the pool, it is also well situated for trips to local villages and towns, as well as day trips to Florence and Siena. There is a fantastic restaurant walking distance away, and plenty of places to eat around a 15min drive away in the beautiful Anghiari. Jeremy, who manages the property, was really helpful and easy to contact, and the villa spotlessly clean. We also had good customer service from the owners, who replied quickly to email queries and refunded our security deposit within a few days of arriving home. Overall this is an amazing villa which I have no hesitation in recommending. I hope we get to back someday.

Summary: I'd seen the photos but nothing could prepare me for the beauty of this villa. Looking out over the Tuscan hills, surrounded by dozens of walks through wildflowers and Tuscan wilderness, a terrace that was perfect for breakfasts, long and lazy lunches, and watching the sun go down with a Campari spritz in hand. The abundance of fig trees and blackberries around the property were fun for kids and adults alike, and the pool was hard to draw yourself away from - plenty of lounges to loll on and big umbrellas to give shade. The villa itself is well equipped, spacious and beautifully appointed - it features all the little things that make the difference when renting a holiday house - plenty of crockery, beautiful linen napkins, and lots of gorgeous glassware - every meal felt like a special occasion. I'd definitely recommend day trips in the area to local towns and restaurants, but you could just as easily stay at the villa and be very, very happy. The Cantucci biscuits from the little deli in nearby town Manzi are a must! I can't wait to return one day - it's a magical spot.

Summary: This wasn't our first stay at Seccarille and plan for it to not be the last! The setting really is breathtaking - sweeping views, big skies, rolling hills, farmhouses and vineyards, as far as the eye can see. Make sure to catch at least one sunrise from the terrace. Speaking of, the terrace (which looks out over the pool and beyond) was the heart of our stay and is the ideal environment for late breakfasts, long lunches, apertivo and of course, large dinners. (The table seats at least 14) We also loved having lunches at the long table set up under a grapevine covered arbor in the garden. If you can tear yourself away from Seccarille, Agriturismo Mafuccio is very close by and a must! We could have eaten there everyday. The villa itself is spacious, comfortable and chic, and aside from the pool the grounds also include tennis courts and a basketball hoop. If you like to walk - and we do - you'll find yourself spoiled for choice! We hiked a different trail everyday and just loved this aspect of our stay. Between the eating (!) and drinking, the lying by the pool, the hiking, the tennis, the chance to do nothing or to explore nearby medieval towns, everyone's needs are met. It's very easy to achieve a state of total relaxation at Seccarille, but very difficult to leave!

Summary: It is a very special place with fantastic vistas, superb facilities and a very well equipped villa. It was a very a very memorable holiday for the extended family. The place had great charm with understated elegance. Lazing around the pool, long walks in the hills and luncheons under the vines!
