Summary: We had a wonderful stay at Storrs Gate House and would definitely recommend it. The house is absolutely stunning, and our room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, with plenty of choice and everything cooked to perfection. The location is ideal too – just a short walk into Bowness, making it easy to explore the area without needing the car. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We will definitely be returning again and can’t wait for our next visit!

Summary: Take Slippers! Shoes are removed at the door & from that point you feel like you’ve been welcomed into their home. The room was immaculate, breakfast is pretty much anything you fancy, Glen & Susann were very welcoming and super friendly. Wasn’t what we thought we’d booked tbh. The marina & the lake are not visible from the house. Not sure about ‘balcony rooms’ either, It’s very convenient for walking into Bowness (about 10 mins) which makes the parking invaluable.

Summary: Lovely stay with very welcoming and friendly hosts. Good to have parking and was an easyish walk into town via the marina. We were lucky that it was dry and warm whilst we were there ! Had a beautiful room which was nicely furnished with a great bed, large bathroom and a decent powerful shower. Breakfast ordered the night before and it was top notch. Lovely fresh fruit with yoghurt and a full English with Eggs cooked to perfection. No faults or complaints and would 100% recommend.

Summary: We only stayed at Storrs Gate House for one night to break a long journey to Scotland but we would have no hesitation in returning for longer to explore the area properly. The accommodation was supremely comfortable, the breakfast was superb and the hosts were wonderfully welcoming. Storrs Gate House is only a short and pleasant stroll from the centre of Bowness but far enough away to be quiet and tranquil. Altogether top notch. Highly recommended.

Summary: Good location, clean rooms. Good breakfast. The gardens are lovely as well, although we were there in inclement weather. Would be lovely in the summer. We would make one suggestion - the host asked us to leave our shoes at the front door which is fine, as obviously that keeps the property very clean, but it would have been good to know before we arrived as then we could have taken slippers, but this didn’t detract from our stay.
