Positive: Everything from our private and spacious the property is. Like being in the middle of the rainforest yet close to the beach. Stunning house with beautiful view out over the private lake.

Negative: Only negative was the small fridge and TV not being able to connect to Kayo.

Spacious, well appointed with everything you could need for a relax, energetic or cosy weekend away, including a welcome basket for our pup recovering from surgery. The owners were so friendly and welcoming and brought some home made beef liver jerky for our pup, so thoughtful and unexpected!

Positive: This place is amazing. It is very well organized with considerate little touches everywhere. The bed was very comfortable and the entire place was very clean. It has some amazing views and it just a short walk away from the beach and only a 15 minute beachwalk away from Mission Beach' cafes and shops. And amazing that it is dog friendly.

Positive: This is a beautiful house in a nice location with great views of the lake and forest. So many beautiful birds all around and even tree bats. We were lucky and a beautiful Cassowary walked thru the yard one afternoon. The bed was very comfy soft but not too soft. It is extremely quiet except for the birds which I loved. We walked to the town via the coastal trail which is not too far from the house. It was also very clean and the furniture was very nice.

Positive: The owners were super friendly and accommodating. The house has everything you could wish for, including a firepit — perfect to sit by the lake for an hour or two. The bed is big and comfortable. The house itself is spacious and interesting — I like how the bedroom is set off from the living area by its volcanic rock walls.

Positive: Massive thank you to Jo for letting us stay in their wonderfull Lake House and also allowing us to bring our young Puppy with us he loved it. The House was presented beautifully and was tidy and clean and was fully stocked with everything you could possibly think of we didn’t need anything we brought with us! It’s tucked away in a super quiet part of mission beach and was the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. Beach is in easy walking distance same as the main part of Mission beach. You can look out on the lake and hear the waves from the beach we were even lucky enough so see the baby croc in the lake overall was a special experience thank you again

Positive: Beautiful location. Lovely views and wildlife! Spotted a croc in the lake 😍 There was no AC in the lounge when we arrived and I asked the owner that they said they were getting it back in November 2025. Anyway, that evening their AC unit was fitted in the lounge which made the temperature SO MUCH MORE BEARABLE. Massive thanks for sorting that out during our stay. Otherwise we would not have enjoyed it with that heat as it was extremely hot inside, even the dogs were panting inside.

Negative: Found a huge piece of glass under the fridge door and multiple small pieces around on the kitchen floor, I nearly sliced my foot open on. There were ants everywhere and they got into our food and drinks. Suggestion maybe to put some ant traps around (where dogs can not reach). Although this was not a huge issue, just something which could improve on someone else's stay. There was also cobwebs around the property, in the bathroom doorway and lounge.

Positive: A truly beautiful stay in a stunning location, completely immersed in nature. The accommodation was divine, with incredible attention to detail throughout. Thoughtful touches everywhere — from suggested activities, chairs set out overlooking the lake, to a lovely doggy basket with towels and toys. The owner really thought of everything. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful place to stay.
