Positive: The apartment is located in a quiet living area around 5 min by car from Guápiles city center. Although it is located on the families premises it is very private. The accommodation is quite basic but very clean and the beds have mosquito nets. The car can be parked on the premises and there is a cute little garden. Coffee, sugar and a coffee maker can be found in the kitchen. The owner and his mother were very friendly and they lent us a vacuum cleaner to clean the car. They offered laundry washing but we didn't need it.

Negative: The (outdoor) kitchen technically has everything you need but the condition is not very good. Everything is a little dirty and technical equipment is kind of broken but the coffee maker (Costa Rica Style) was in good shape.

Positive: It was an absolute 10/10 experience. The location is amazing, there's a river just a 100 meters away in the forest where you can take a dip. The garden is full of beautiful plants, fruits (which we could take) and birds... a lot of birds think hummingbirds, tucans, and many other colourful birds. Jorge was always extremely helpful, he picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station of Guapiles, and he offered to takes us to town to do the groceries. He also took us to a nice waterfall for a very reasonible price where he stopped many times to show us interesting things and told us a lot about Costa Rica. The room and the kitchen only have basic equipment but they had all the essentials we needed.

Summary: Perfect immersion into the real Costa Rica (10/10)
