All on the ground floor with lots of light and comfortably furnished throughout it’s an ideal retreat for couples keen to enjoy a car free holiday being just 5 minutes walk to the railway station. Great for exploring the glorious beaches and fishing villages of the Northumbrian coast; Alnwick and Bamburgh castles are in easy reach as are the great houses of the Scottish Borders, Paxton, Floors and Mellerstain. Berwick has a wide array of shops, pubs, restaurants and an excellent theatre at The Maltings. Edinburgh is under an hour by train. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 220 yards.

Summary: The Toll House was lovely. Clean, comfortable and cosy. Fully equipped kitchen, though we only had breakfast in you could easily have prepared a whole meal. Berwick Upon Tweed is a nice little town and ideal as a base for touring the area. Train station literally 5 min walk - handy for day trip to Edinburgh. 5 days wasn’t enough. Loved the area and would definitely stay at The Toll House again.
