Island Overlook #1 is the first of three separate, identical cabins situated on a hillside overlooking Lake Superior. These newly constructed cabins feature all of the comforts of home while boasting an unforgettable view of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, particularly Raspberry Island. In each cabin, you’ll walk into an open-concept living room and kitchen with panoramic windows and a sliding glass door to the private back patio. The living space is equipped with a Roku Smart TV and DVD player, as well as a queen sleeper sofa. Enjoy the view from the fully-stocked, modern kitchen. The cozy, quiet bedroom features a queen bed and modern ceiling fan/light combo. The spacious bathroom has a large walk-in shower! Head outside to utilize your cabin’s private patio furniture, grill, and fire pit. *Guests may use outdoor fire pit but are required to purchase their own firewood locally.* All linens, towels, and basic toiletries provided. Beach towels NOT provided. Kitchen stocked with essential cooking equipment and standard drip coffee maker.
NOW OFFERING PRIVATE HIKING, SNOWSHOEING, AND NORDIC SKIING TRAILS! Explore the rugged landscape and a wide variety of wildlife on these privately owned trails. The 3 short loop trails total just under one mile. The trails are marked by stakes and will be maintained on a limited basis. NO MOTOR VEHICLES ALLOWED, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Summary: The cabin was absolutely beautiful, well kept and great location. Would definitely stay there again.

Summary: For the most part this is a lovely, comfortable cabin. It has a very nice well-appointed kitchen and a great covered porch with a gas grill and view of Lake Superior on a clear day. It was very clean. However, the bed is EXTREMELY soft, so much so that it aggravated my husband's back the first night and he had to spend the next five nights sleeping on the couch. (An additional comforter was provided but no sheets.) The only heating/cooling unit is a mini split in the main room and even with the door open the bedroom doesn't get much air circulation from it so it was pretty stuffy. Another minor complaint but may be important to people who are tall -- in spite of this being new construction, for some reason they installed one of those very short, small toilets where you feel like you're doing a deep squat to use it. Just kind of annoying and unexpected in a new build. Other than that, this property is a bit off the beaten path, about ten minutes drive north of Bayfield so if it's important for you to be near the action, you might want to consider something closer. We liked the secludedness of it but would not stay again unless they upgraded to a firmer mattress.

Summary: We had a little trouble with the lock but knew that ahead of time. The place was very clean, but when we were trying to troubleshoot the heat noticed a bunch of dead flies in the heating element.

Summary: Everything about this cabin exceeded our expectations. Everything leading up to the trip, including communication and personal accommodations needed, was fantastic. Check-in was smooth and the entire place was easy to navigate despite a blizzard rolling into town 24 hours earlier. The cabin is cozy in the most luxurious sense. Everything is new, clean, comfortable, and modern. The kitchen is ample enough to cook every meal and the living areas feel so much bigger than any sort of “tiny house.” The amenities were fantastic for either a short or long-term stay. The road that runs between the cabin and the lake is quiet and was infrequently traveled during our stay which made for peace and solitude with nothing obstructing the views. We absolutely plan to visit again during any season!
