Negative: Having to carry everything from the pub carpark. The spiral staircase to the bathroom and bedrooms wouldn’t suit everyone

Positive: The location is fabulous, walks on the doorstep, good pubs in all directions. The cottage is so cute, clean and very comfy. The kitchen is really well equipped and a lovely social space. The lounge is great and well presented with seating and a large TV. The bedrooms are so comfy and the bathroom spacious and modern. The outdoor space is lovely, lots of wild flowers and very peaceful. There is a table and patio set on a decked area to enjoy.

Negative: Super minor things but a couple of the cups were broken and one of the plug sockets in the kitchen was really wobbling and could do with a bit of love.

Negative: Not sure if user error but we couldn’t get the shower to run hot, would also suggest there is a sign or a Number 1 put on the gate as it took us a while to figure out how to get in 🤣

Positive: Beautifully furnished cottage in lovely location. Able to walk straight from the door along the canal into the surrounding countryside or into Burscough. Very handy pub with good food.

Positive: Lovely location overlooking a canal lock. Very quiet. Really stylish kitchen / diner, comfy beds, great Wi-Fi throughout.

Negative: Had an initial problem with the shower, but this was soon fixed. Parking is a bit tricky but there seems to be an understanding with the nearby pub that you can park there.

Summary: The nicest accommodation that we've found in this neck of the woods, and we'll be coming back soon.

Positive: Beautiful clean cottage in an amazing location. Really good pub with excellent food next door. Easiest way to the cottage is go to the back of the pub and up some steps, turn left and you're there.

Negative: Hard to flush toilet but that may be due to the rural location and older pipes
