4 Bedroom House in Bend

This non-smoking house is a complete classy and comfy winner. It is fully stocked (double ovens- and sinks in the kitchen) with anything you might need and is located 10 minutes from downtown Sisters (17 miles from downtown Bend) on 10 acres that share a boundary with the US Forest Service. The mountain view is stunning, the neighborhood quiet and there is plenty of room in this lovely house to stretch out and relax with family members and friends (critters too- we can square up later on the pet fee ($25 per night per dog).
Enjoy the plethora of nearby lakes for paddle boarding or kayaking or seasonal skiing at Mt. Bachelor or HooDoo! There is a forest road right next door that is perfect for taking the pooch for a run, or your mountain bike for a ride, and even your side-by-side RZRs. Aspen Lake golf course is minutes away, as well as Black Butte Ranch!
The home is my parents' dream home AND they snowbird for 6 months of the year. Know that when you stay at The Harrington House you are a guest in their home, not a rental guest. You will find all sorts of kitchen gadgets and tools, spices and any pot or pan you might need to create a gourmet meal for a family reunion or a holiday event! The home is loaded with puzzles and games (corn hole is a fan favorite), and the table is ginormous with 8 chairs and a high bar with an additional 4 chairs. The home includes 5 couches and 3 smart TVs. There is a turn around driveway if you are pulling a trailer and there is parking for dozens of vehicles on the paved driveway.
Spaces:
Master suite (king bed) is upstairs with a balcony and master bathroom complete with a garden tub and plush bath towels.
Bedroom 1 (King Glory) is downstairs
Bedroom 2 (Western Queen) is downstairs
Murphy 3 (Murphy Queen) is upstairs- there is a bathroom super close to the sleeping area. This is not a typical "bedroom"- it is in the loft. Also in the loft is multiple couches and seating, an outside balcony, a grand piano (that you can play or it plays by itself), a smart TV, a mini wetbar fridge and sink.
The hardwood floors bring warmth, the tiled entryway and bathrooms are gorgeous and the carpeted bedrooms and stairs provide a homey and quiet space.
Guaranteed to see deer & hear coyotes during your visit. Please don't feed the deer, as they will poop on the deck for months. :D

Smoking/Pet Info:
As a reminder, this is a no-smoking property (house and property) and there is a $500-$1500 deposit retained.
We are a dog family- please ensure that you are accurate with the amount of furry friends joining your party. Pets are not allowed to be in the home alone. I have a small enclosure for smaller dogs that you are welcome to use for outside- weather permitting (please let me know if you would like it available). There is a penalty fee if pets are not disclosed. The dog fee is $25 per night per pet.
Due to parent allergies, we are not allowing cat family members at this time.
There isan extra-person fee if your crew has more than 8 guests. The fee is $10 per person per night. This will be requested after your book as a "extra".

Summary: Even though we could not see the killer mountain views due to weather, our team was able to create many memories over the three days at the house. The home has everything needed to feel comfortable on the road. Our host/owner took time out of her day to connect with us daily providing informaiton about the house, area, etc. Beautiful home and look forward to 2025 winter tournament as we hope to stay again!

Summary: This is a lovely home, and it fit our needs perfectly! Our stay was a little bit of a mixed bag, but I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. The main thing to note is that this someone’s "lived-in" home. It is a home that was furnished for the comfort and appeal of the owners, and it is not a sparce, bland neutral-toned house devoid of character. We found it refreshing. That being said, there may be times where if feels like you’re intruding on someone’s personal space, but it didn’t bother us. On the negative side, the pet fee of $25 per dog was not adequately disclosed on the listing. There was a mention of a pet fee in the “About this property” section, but when VRBO states, “Total includes fees, not tax”, one assumes that the total includes all fees. This has been changed and the listing now says $25 per night per dog, but I believe that is still in addition to the total that VRBO states. Additionally, we had no hot water in the upstairs bathroom showers, so we all shared the downstairs shower. (Interestingly there was hot water in the sinks though.) Lastly, we were unable to find a corkscrew – but while searching, we found no less than 5 barbeque lighters. This is not meant as a complaint, but rather an idiosyncratic indicator of the charm of the home! Becky was a great host and her communication was concise without being overly/annoyingly frequent… Just the right amount of communication. Overall, we had a very nice stay and would absolutely stay again.

Summary: Our church hosted a staff retreat here, and the home was beautiful, comfortable, homey and clean. It is a terrific value for the price! Also, Becky, the host, was wonderful - she was responsive and very accommodating. Our only complaint was that the listing and the pictures give the appearance of 4 bedrooms, which was why we selected this home as we had 4 couples staying there. It was disappointing to arrive and realize that the murphy bed (which is a queen) was in the common area and not in it's own room. We'd recommend a more accurate description and maybe some privacy screens. Otherwise we'd HIGHLY recommend this home for your next getaway!
