Summary: The house was clean, well furnished, nicely set up and well supplied with cookware, kitchen utensils and things like that, which made our stay easy and enjoyable. We would definitely rent this property again if staying is this area. Visiting deer attracted by feed were right outside the windows mornings and evenings. They were fun and interesting to watch, though we wondered if they might get too dependent on and too comfortable with humans for their own safety. The house is on the edge of a small community. The small wetland area adjacent to the house is very scenic and interesting in its own right. But directly across from it is a commercial lumber mill and an energy plant with a stack that dominates the skyline. These didn't interfere or detract from our stay, but they do take away the sense of being deep in nature. Gazing just beyond those, you get a very nice view of Cranberry Peak and the eastern edge of the Bigelow Mountain Preserve, which reminds you that you're pretty far out in a remote part of Maine, a nice place to be.

Summary: From the booking, through the exit, everything was as advertised with a true sense of welcoming, which made for a really great family weekend with friends, Including our four legged member. Unbeatable location for staying home or hitting the slopes. As much cross-country or hiking one could possibly dream up. Truly a family friendly home, with all activities, at a fantastic rate, and responsive, accommodating host. What more could you ask for? We would love to visit again. It is perfect.

Summary: The home was perfect for our family - 6 adults/3 dogs. It is located on private property at the end of Blanchard Ave. Very comfortable two story/two bath with porch - has a great space for dinner/breakfast, and a cozy living room (with heater) to watch cable or play computer games. The host is very accomodating. There were no glitches with the wi-fi. The backyard is huge overlooking a bog and perfect for playing with the dogs. There is also a great outdoor pit set up which we didn't actually get to use cuz we got back from hikes so late. We'd alll go back for sure !!!

Summary: First impression was not positive as we drove into the property because the outside of the house was not in good repair and the yard was unkempt (broken or discarded furniture stored along one side, broken branches from a winter storm still lying around), BUT the inside was just fine! The house was clean throughout; there was a well-apointed kitchen; beds were comfortable and there were plenty of blankets including electric ones which were used well. Plenty of towels, plenty of hot water, and heat. We enjoyed the beautiful view to the east of Cranberry Mountain and the sunrise. The first floor had a spacious, open flow that easily accomodated our mealtimes and conversations. The snow cover had recently melted completely so that could explain the debris of branches in the yard. It was definitely mud season but some of us were able to downhill happily thanks to terrific grooming by the Sugarloaf crew, and the rest walked sections of the Narrow Gauge Trail each day. We exercised, ate and slept well and it was a joy to be with vaccinated and tested family after an isolating winter of Covid restrictions

Summary: We enjoyed an excellent stay at this property and would highly recommend this charming spot. It is only a 15-minute drive to Sugarloaf Mountain, and there's a nice deck where you can leave your skis overnight. The kitchen is well stocked, and it was easy for us to cook family-style meals. As a bonus, the house is filled with Christmas cheer, games, and a great selection of DVDs. The home also has deer nearby and instructions on how to feed them.
