Nestled in the woods, in the heart of a property of 7 ha This former silkworm of the seventeenth century. all stone, fully restored, will seduce lovers of nature (and trees!) eager to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to relax in a quiet environment (just birds singing and in summer cicadas) and relaxing.
Composed of 2 dwellings:
The main house, which offers spacious, has two rooms in a row, one with a double bed and the other a single bed, which can accommodate a cot if necessary.
A large bathroom with 2 sinks, bath and toilet.
In the mezzanine (25 m2), overlooking the living room, 2 twin beds and a reading area with library.
A spacious kitchen (25 m2), well equipped.
A very large living room with fireplace, library, TV corner.
Beams visible throughout the house and stone floor (bars) in the living room and 2 bedrooms on the ground floor.
A beautiful and large terrace with a nice view on wide accols (terraces with dry stone walls) planted with olive trees and other beautiful trees (cedar, arbutus, lime, mimosa ...), as well as fruit trees (cherry tree , plum trees, fig trees ...).
An appendix (small stone house, the Mazet), one bedroom with double bed and a sofa bed, s. bath, shower, toilet.
Air conditioning in the master bedroom and the guest house.
The two houses (main house and annex) as well as the swimming pool and the 7 ha. of the property are for your exclusive use.
The nearest neighbor (the owner) is 1 km away.
The village of St Paul the Younger is 10 min. by car.
Banne is 10 minutes away. by car (or 15 minutes on foot, via an ancient Roman road).
For your sports or leisure, a swimming pool (5x10 m, with pool shower) 4 sunbeds and 2 deckchairs, a bowling green and badminton in the pine forest, a ping-pong table. Walks from the house on small trails with beautiful views in a private forest of 20 ha .. If you want to walk more, you can also walk from the property PR or GR hiking trails and mountain bike circuits. Possibility of jogging without leaving the property.
To relax, a double hammock under the lime trees and a simple in the cedar.
The pretty little medieval village of Banne (labeled "village of character") is 15 minutes walk via an ancient Roman road. To discover also other charming villages (Naves, Labeaume, Balazuc ...).
You can stroll in the small weekly markets around the area offering many local products (goat cheese, charcuterie ...) and handicrafts (wood, basketry, pottery ...). The market Vans (20 minutes drive from the farmhouse) is one of the most typical.
Nearby, nice spots to swim in rivers (L'Abeau, Ganière, Chassezac ...).
And many recreational activities: descent of Chassezac and Ardèche by canoe or raft, canyoning, climbing, paragliding ...

Summary: Beautifully decorated, tasteful and stylish house in a stunning back to nature location! House is so well equipped and has everything could possibly need (and more!). Fantastic pool, plenty of games and sports equipment. Lovely walks straight out of property including to Banne nearby. Saint Paul Le Jeune short drive (or morning jog) for great Boulangerie. Muriel was a fantastic host and could not have been more helpful. Overall - fantastic!

Summary: This is our second visit to the property and will certainly not be our last. We love staying at Le Mas. The property itself is lovely; well appointed and so very peaceful. We come here to escape from society but in-truth you're only 10 minutes from the small local shops and 30 minutes from the nearby bigger towns. Can't wait to book our next trip!

Summary: My wife and I had a great week at the end of August with nice weather. The house is perfect, the owners are so sweet, helpful and charming. You live in the middle of your own arboretum with a lot of trees that surround a huge plot with a lot of small, marked and cozy paths into the forest so you can go exploring in the forest on your own. There is also a slightly larger path some distance away which leads down to Banne which you can reach on foot in 15 min. The house is characterized by the owners' perfection and great interest in that everything must be perfect and in accordance with nature and the original values found in such an old silk farm. However, modern comfort has by no means been compromised, but the charm and originality are at the same time intact and you enjoy sitting on the sofa in the living room and looking around the large, open space that previously housed a lot of silkworms. The kitchen is amazing. Nothing is missing. When you cook and look out of Muriel's new window, you almost feel like standing and looking at a painting with a fantastic view of the forest and the mountains in the distance. We also slept wonderfully in the very nice beds. When the weather was nice and warm we enjoyed sitting on the terrace and eating every day and listening to the birds and winds rustling in the treetops. At night, a starry sky reveals itself that you would not otherwise see. There is no light pollution, there is no noise and one is completely oneself and can enjoy the peace and quiet and each other. The house is perfect if you need complete peace and quiet, but at the same time is so close to everything that there are no problems in, both driving up the Cevennes or taking trips to the Rhone Valley. All in all, we had a fantastic week in Muriel and Fred’s house and can highly recommend it. Thank you so much for the cones - we look forward to making a wreath for Christmas. Summary: Muriel's house (a former silk worm factory), set in extensive grounds, is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in. Stylish, comfortable, thoughtfully designed inside, the softest beds, an amazingly well-stocked kitchen...but outside, eating on the gorgeous terrace or swimming in the pool, surrounded by all kinds of cypress and pine trees moving in the breeze, you'll feel like you're in some kind of secret paradise. Don't miss an opportunity to come and stay here, unwind and totally relax. We won't forget it for a long time and would love to come again some day!

Summary: Our second visit to Banne. We stayed for a week and had a very restful and peaceful time. The house is very spacious and cool and very well cared for; all around are pine woods, so there is no noise except the breeze amongst the tress and bird song. Yet it is a short walk down the hill through the woods to the lovely village of Banne where you can eat and have a drink. Muriel and Frederick are always available to offer help and advice, giving us recommendations for some lovely walks and swimming. We came away feeling very relaxed. Thank you!

Summary: We loved staying here - a very beautiful house and grounds in a stunning, tranquil setting. A very special place. As well as a lovely pool, some wonderful trails and sitting places have been created through the grounds. Nearby St Paul le Jeune has useful shops (and tennis courts), and the market town of Les Vans is easily reached by a beautiful car drive. Lots to do nearby - we enjoyed some amazing walks, river swimming, canoeing, and visiting local villages and markets. Nimes also well worth a visit. The house was beautifully furnished and very well equipped. Muriel is a very thoughtful and helpful owner, taking care of our needs without being intrusive. We felt truly rested and relaxed after our stay and plan to return. Merci bien!
