Summary: It was a pleasure and a privalege to inhabit Le Vieux Presbytere with my family and friends for a month. Everything we needed had been provided and everything worked, ( not to be expectd in a 300 year-old house). The host couple, Caroline and Jerry Jones were especially helpful in planning our excursions and became friends who helped us celebrate with food and laughter. It was spacious and special and long to be rememberd.

Summary: Everything was wonderful, good comfortable beds, well kept gardens, quiet setting, proximity to grocery stores, and only a few miles from some amazing castles and historical towns. Karen's welcome French style dinner when we arrived was amazing. We look forward to coming back someday. We completely enjoyed it! Thank you so much!

Summary: I stayed at the Chateau for a week in March 2017 with some friends. It took us awhile to find the property but once we did we were not disappointed. It is in a lovely part of Normandy in a quaint French Village. We drove through many small villages with stone buildings - so beautiful! The house was a little stuffy but I think they had just opened it up for the season. The rooms are large and virtually every bedroom has its own bath - very nice! Karen, the caretaker was amazing and answered every one of our questions. She is a treasure!! She prepared a nice dinner for use which we ate for several days after! The Chateau is located in a central spot in Normandy. We drove to Mont St. Michel, Chateau Chenonceau (stunningly beautiful) Evron, St. Suzanne and Chartres. The week was amazing and I would not hesitate to come back!

Summary: Three couples went to stay in "an old chateau" and were thoroughly charmed by its antiquity! From its original stone floors and impressive winding, 4 story staircase to its grand back yard with rows of lavender and a cute tree house, Vieux Presbytere was a delight. The grounds were a well kept, lush green and the hydrangeas were in beautiful pinks and purples; such a beautiful surrounding for morning coffee and pastries out under the patio! With 4 bedrooms, there was plenty of space for privacy and also plenty of space for being social. Any need or question we had was quickly met/answered by our hosts, Caroline and Jerry, who were also so informative about the history of the house and local surroundings. The pictures on the website are very accurate, but you have to be there in person to appreciate the true beauty of the place! It is a great location to travel from: short trips to nearby towns as well as day trips to further locations like Normandy or Mont St. Michel. I definitely would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to relax and unwind, spend quality time with family or friends, and to visit historical locations. Caroline and Jerry are fun people to be around if you choose to include them in your visit. We did! (Fight on!)

Summary: What a grand country house with beautiful grounds all around it! This house was a perfect accommodation for our family vacation of ten days, providing spacious living room, dining room and larger than usual bedrooms by French standards for six adults (two daughters and their husbands joined my wife and me) and two grand-daughters (ages 2 and 4). Washing machines, dryer and dish-washer all worked great. Same goes for the Wi-Fi. The Tree House was amazing and was a big hit with our grand-daughters. We also took advantage of the catering service and ordered dinners for our family from the only Bar-Restaurant in the village, located near the church. Great food, friendly service and good overall value. We enjoyed day trips to the following sites: Ste Suzanne, Saulges, St Léonard-des-Bois (nice hiking trails), St Céneri in Les Alpes Mancelles, Le Mans (Cathedral and Le Vieux Le Mans), Jublains, Le Mont-St Michel. Also liked the drives and walks we took around the well manicured farms with hundreds of heads of cattle scattered over the green pastures on the hilly countryside of the Coévrons elevations around St Georges. St Georges, as all the villages in the area, is clean and all the houses in the village and surrounding area are well kept. The same goes for Evron where we found all the necessities we needed: grocery stores Super-U, Carrefour and Lidle, many boulangeries, pharmacies, banks and ATM machines, etc. Caroline Jones, our host, made herself available to answer any questions we had and was happy to provide us with recommendations of sites to visit and things to do. We very much enjoyed meeting her and her son Austin.

Summary: Stunningly beautiful. We used Le Presbytere as our focal point for day trips every day. Our first day at the chateau, Saturday, we enjoyed a dinner provided by Karen, an exceptionally helpful and pleasant lady. Day 2, Sunday, we visited Ste. Suzanne and enjoyed pastries in the local shops. Day 3, Monday, we drove to the Loire River Valley visiting Joan of Arc sites at St. Catherine de Fierbois and Chinon, and the wine house Caroline recommended in Vouvray. We bought several bottles of sec and demi-sec wine. Day 4, Tuesday, we drove to Mont St. Michel, and on the way back to the chateau stopped at a Calvados place, purchasing several bottles of Calvados. Day 5 we drove to Rouen to visit the the church of Joan of Arc as well as the beautiful Rouen cathedral. Day 6 we drove to Omaha Beach and viewed the American Cemetery and museum. We also stopped in Bayeaux to view the historic tapestry. Round trip driving was around 350 km each day, but we enjoyed the French countryside. We were all surprised and pleased to see the fields so green. BTW, the weather was fantastic, actually warm. I did not use my scarf, wool hat and gloves until our last day, Saturday, in Paris. It was a memorable sojourn in Normandy at Le Presbytere. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Regards, Theo

Summary: What a wonderful setting! Our family didn't want to leave the House and Garden. The children (3 and 5) we very happy with the Tree House and would have slept there if we had allowed it. A very friendly, welcoming and accomodating house and owner. Information was available about surrounding attractions and areas to visit. The owner was able to give advice on what might suit our family needs best as she had visited them herself.

Summary: This a beautiful and comfortable house that we would very highly recommend. As the photos show, it is impressive and full of character; but it is also practical, spacious, and comfortable. The garden is large very well kept. The listing is accurate and complete, and the owners are efficient and very nice to deal with. The house was clean and well maintained and everything worked smoothly. We spent two weeks based there, with a variety of family members coming for shorter periods. Train connections from the UK make it possible to visit for a couple of days. It sleeps 10 easily (with three good bathrooms), and it would be excellent for two or three families sharing. There are lots of games for the garden - great for kids. St Georges sur Erve is a tiny hamlet but it has its own restaurant/bar/bread-seller. The surrounding countryside is totally unspoiled rural France, with few tourists. There are, however, plenty of things to do within a short drive, albeit of the local and low-key kind. Our favourites were the beautiful village/castle of Sainte Suzanne (10-15 minutes away); the caves at Saulges; the Roman ruins at Jublains; and the amazing light-show in Le Mans (late evening and 50 minutes away but certainly worth it). The local market town of Évron is also nice in a plain but typically French way, with an impressive abbey church. Overall, the house and its vicinity exceeded our expectations and we would warmly recommend it to friends and family.
