Converted 200 year old barn, in the mountain village of Pasalites, near Perama and 7km south of Panormo and the beaches, makes a romantic and quiet base for couples, walkers, cyclists or couples wanting to be away from the crowds. Villa Alexander is a studio style one bed villa with enclosed garden and real well. It is in easy reach of Heraklion, Rethymnon and several ancient and historical sites, including Eleftherma, Melidoni, Arkadia and Rethymnon. It has single studio style accommodation, with kitchenette, seating area with TV etc, raised bedroom area and separate bathroom. The stone walls and timber ceilings make this a very warm and relaxing location. The private courtyard garden gives privacy for eating and relaxing. A child cot can be provided on request. Not suitable for wheelchairs, but can be used by restricted mobility. It is incredibly peaceful and relaxing!

Summary: This is a really great place if you want to be away from the crowds and the hassle of touristy places. It is secluded and a really peaceful place in the mountains with all the facilities you need. There are so many hidden beaches if you want to cool down that are also less crowded. The local small town offers everything you need and people are just lovely and welcoming.

Summary: The property is just right for two people, who wish to get away from the crowds. The overall appearance on arrival was one of the property looking a little forlorn. The patio was covered in a carpet of seeds, etc from the trees and the plants in their pots looked very unwell. After two days of us watering them, they started to recover . It just felt as if it needed a bit of TLC. Otherwise a great place to use as a base for exploring Crete.

Summary: The Villa was in a perfect rural place to explore central Crete. There was everything you could need. All very clean.lovely to sit outside .Very peaceful. Had quick responses from Martin and Sally . The neighbour opposite the Villa gave us fresh basil and figs. A car is a must as nearest bakery and supermarket is a 10min drive away .

Summary: There was ample to see and do within a short drive. Booklets and maps left in property very instructive and useful guides. Local taverna provided good selection of vegetarian food. Property immaculate and charming.

Summary: You'll need a car for this one, as it is out in the rural countryside south of Perama. But the home was perfect for me and has a lovely patio for enjoying the Creta sunshine. It's a wonderful place to be away from it all and to explore the surrounding countryside on Crete's winding roads.

Summary: I spent a whole week with my girlfriend in this nice house. It is located near the coast and is easily accesable with a car. It was the perfect starting point for several trips all arround crete. Nearby is a small super market that provided us with the essential foods. I would recommend this place to friends. Espacially the very fast and friendly responses from Martin and Sally were noteworthy.

Summary: Exactly what it said in the description on line and the directions to get here from Sally were spot on. The courtyard was lovely for lounging and the villa is completely self contained with all mod-cons. The power shower and air con came in very useful after a day out sightseeing. Plenty of storage and there were some nice touches with parasols, sun loungers, torches and candles in case of power cuts- we didn't have to use them, external lighting for evening meals, there was even a spring balance to weigh your cases for the trip back - we needed for nothing. We used the villa as a base so visited Knossos, Margarites - ceramic art village, took a stunning drive up Mount Ida to Anogeia and drove to the south coast to a beach called Aya Pavlos - utter heaven. A trip to the Arkadian Monestary is a must - very moving and if you are visiting Eleftherna make it a whole day and go to the museum in the new village first to get the lie of the land - a fascinating place. A couple of days we lay in in the comfy bed and then sun bathed in the courtyard listening to the goats in the adjacent olive grove. The people are friendly our neighbour gave us a gift of freshly picked apricots and fresh oregano - everyone says hello and nothing is too much trouble. Our two weeks flew by and we relaxed well helped by the wine and Raki. Our first visit to Crete and it won't be the last.
