The beautiful 4-acre property, recently remodeled, consists of a 3-bedroom main house with a detached guest cottage, both built around an extra-large 33-foot private pool. Miss Ruby is located on the prestigious Banks Road, the prime address in Governors Harbour, just 5 minutes by car from town and less than a 15 minute walk down the beach from famous Tippy's restaurant and bar.
Miss Ruby is a 3 to 5 minute walk (depending on your pace) from a miles-long pink-sand beach, usually deserted. This beach has a unique, totally-protected pool, perfect for small children, as well as a long stretch of postcard-perfect ocean beach. Miss Ruby features beautiful ocean views from the upper floor rooms and decks. Miss Ruby is surrounded by a lush garden planted with flowering bougainvillea and hibiscus, as well as coconut palms and other fruit trees.
Miss Ruby's two-story main house has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. It features high ceilings, hardwood floors, and lots of sunlight. The first floor has large great room with living and dining areas, and a modern, fully equipped island kitchen with butcher block countertops and stainless steel appliances. There is also a guest bedroom on the first floor with a full bed and a full bath that is shared with the living area.
Upstairs features an extra-large king-bed master suite with ocean views, en-suite full bath, and an enormous ocean-view deck and wrap-around veranda. The upstairs also has a large guest bedroom with a triple bunk bed and a separate single bed. This bedroom also has a full bath and a large veranda with ocean views.
The detached guest cottage features 2 single beds and a full bed, a full bath, and a kitchen complete with refrigerator, range, sink, and coffee maker.
Amenities include super-fast and reliable STARLINK internet and WIFI, private pool, air conditioning, laundry room with washer and dryer, hi-fi stereo, cordless telephone, satellite TV and DVD player with USB and TV screen. Outside there is a gas grill and an outdoor table for dining beside the pool.
The town of Governors Harbour, the main town on the island, is just 5 minutes from the property by car. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. It has a nice little collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking a picturesque harbor. You can buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock. Friday night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour is a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street. You won't want to miss it.
Upscale beachfront restaurants in the area include Pascal's at Sky Beach Club (International cuisine with Bahamian influences), Tippy's (international and fusion), The Buccaneer (Bahamian cuisine with Caribbean-Chinese fusion), 1648 House, and The Rainbow Inn (famous for its steaks and seafood). The above all have live music one or more nights a week, so there is live entertainment somewhere nearby almost every night. The Governors Harbour area also has numerous little takeouts and restaurants offering local cuisine, including Da Perk (coffee shop and sandwiches), The Banks Road Deli, Bacchus Fine Foods (gourmet restaurant and food store), Mate and Jenny's (pizza and Bahamian), the Sunset Inn (local cuisine), and LeoRose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill (local cuisine, drinks, live music).

Summary: The house was very nice and clean. We had a rough time due to a fire on the island right beside us. That was definitely not the home owner's fault in any way. We did want to move to another house farther down on the beach but were told there was nothing available but only in town which we did not want to stay in town as we came for the beach. The walk to the beach is not bad, but is around 7-8 minutes depending on how fast you walk. The house is stocked with beginning toilet paper and even laundry detergent, but we were informed after we were trying to use the stove that it was broke and to just go next door to the studio to use the oven. Definitely not idea as its very tiny. The fridge does not make ice just fyi you have to go buy ice but it will dispense it. The kitchen is fairly well stocked but nothing like a home owner would stock. I said a couple times, if they stayed here, they would realize the small items needed in the kitchen. The bed was decently comfortable in the master bedroom, but the couch is well overdue for extra fluffiness. But truthfully the privacy is amazing at the house. The house feels like a victorian house especially on the outside. So overall I would recommend this house. I won't be looking to stay at it again as it was very frustrating to not even be able to enjoy outside with the awful smoke for several days. We ended up having to leave the house the minute we got up to not have our eyes absolutely killing us for several days.

The extra space in the pool house was great for our older teenager! I would highly recommend this house for anyone looking to take a family vacation!

Summary: We spent 3 weeks at the property and our stay was very good. We were able to visit 14 other beaches so this is a good spot to adventure from. Very private location and we were able to get to restaurants and grocery stores easily. I recommend this place.

Summary: It was an Amazing vacation and a great property. Miss Ruby's was a great house , with wrap around deck , pool house and pool . An amazing 5 min walk to the pink sand beach we walked on every morning. Governors Harbor was a wonderful place to stay. The locals were so friendly and gave great advice on what to see and do. We all want to come back already!

Summary: The house is clean and spacious. We had a family of five, plus another couple and there was more than enough space for the seven of us. We prepared most meals at the house and the kitchen was well-equipped. The pool is clean and we spent most of our time there. The soft white beach is a short walk or drive and the water is beautiful. This place is all about taking in the beauty and relaxing. The only adventure we took was a six hour boat ride to see the pigs, turtles and stingrays- which was great. The noseeums or some type of bug feasted on a couple of us in the group and didn’t bother the others. We will go back! Communication was good and when a couple small issues came up, they were quickly addressed.

This was our second time staying in Givernora Harbor on Banks Road. The house lived up to its billing, and was more than comfortable for our family of four plus my father who joined us last minute for a couple of nights. The pool is super convenient and fun for the children. The upstairs rooms with en suite baths are large and accommodating. The downstairs bedroom does not have the same privacy as the upstairs rooms and guest cottage but is comfortable enough. Walk to the beach is quite easy, and the location is very private. The internet connection leaves something to be desired, but they were in the process of upgrading it while we were there.
