Summary: This was a very comfortable and peaceful home for our extended stay in Eugene. It’s just outside town so you feel like you’re in the country, but you are literally minutes away from all Eugene has to offer. Comfy beds, lots of outdoor space, and just the right amount of attention from the owners. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

Summary: Only one tv and it is extremely not up to date. A few other things could be updated.

Summary: Enjoyed our stay in town for the football game, much more than the game itself! Home was nice, clean, and as described. Area is absolutely beautiful and the farm was a nice quiet getaway, that despite being on the edge of town, was convenient to everything. Owners were efficient and unobtrusive even though they lived on the property, we never felt like the place wasn't all to ourselves.

Summary: Totally enjoyed our stay. Clean, very comfortable and an amazing setting. We were able to hike in morning around nearby wetlands and enjoy views that were amazing. Owners very friendly but not in our way at all. Highly recommend.

Summary: What a wonderful place. Great views, Out in the country, but close to town. Surrounded by wetlands, it's a walkers dream. Comfy and clean, the house had everything we needed. The grounds are spectacular. Ponds and woods, chickens and pigeons. Landscaped nicely, must be beautiful in spring and summer. This is soooo much better than a hotel in town. The owners were very friendly, and full of advice. They provided fresh locally roasted coffee.

Summary: We found our stay to be exactly what we were looking for - a roomy, laid-back atmosphere for a family Christmas gathering with our pets. My in-laws live in Eugene, but with all 3 of our kids and their spouses coming for the holiday, we felt we needed a bigger place with some outdoor space. The owner was very responsive to our request for additional seating for family meals and even provided firewood so that we could have a fire in the fireplace in the evenings. They also responded quickly when we called mid-week with a concern about a plumbing issue, which was quickly resolved. Although there were only 8 of us sleeping at the house, we were able to cook meals for 10-14 people so that my parents-in-law and brother/sister-in-law were able to join us in the evenings. The kitchen was well stocked with silverware, dishes and pots and pans to accommodate the large crowd! The bar-height counter and barstools provided a perfect place for folks to hang out during meal prep without being underfoot in the kitchen. My adult kids are all runners, so they were pleased to discover the park and running trail just across the street. We're pretty down-to-earth folks, so we appreciated that the furnishings were practical and comfy and not too fancy-fru-fru. We would readily book this house again when we need a place for the entire family to gather! Thank you for your hospitality!

Summary: My band stayed here for 2 nights, while we had shows in Eugene. There was plenty of room for us and it was a relaxing change from our usual motel/hotel rooms. We slept with the windows open and felt totally safe. We really enjoyed the hot tub, the view and the privacy. We would definitely stay there again.

Summary: We booked the Chateau for a work team retreat in early July 2013 and it was a good spot for us to do that. We were able to have our own spaces when we wanted them and when ready for meetings, the living room full of windows made sitting inside tenable when it was so nice outside. We found the kitchen to be minimally equipped...the cooking and eating utensils were not sufficient for the number of people the chateau can house...we found ourselves sharing knives and forks when eating meals and washing dishes mid-meal to reuse them for the next course (there were 6 of us at meals). The air conditioning wasn't working, but the owners responded quickly with fans for us when they realized it was not easily repairable. That said, no adjustments were made to price. Beautiful views, nice deck. Excellent "retreat" spot if the kitchen is replenished with supplies to cook for and feed 8 people. Down to earth and quiet...certainly not luxury, though. As the other reviewer said, it didn't smell clean...rather it smelled like room scenters.

Summary: First, I attempted to book this through VRBO but the owner never returned my emails. When I found the house for rent through craiglist, I emailed that contact (a different one that listed on VRBO). The second contact was responsive and I thought things were all set. We we arrived at the house the air conditioner was broken. Luckily, Eugene was in a cool summer spell (80s instead of 90s) so we decided it would be ok for the weekend. As we went through the house we noticed it didn't have a newly cleaned smell (for example no scent of bleach and the sheets didn't smell freshly washed). During our stay we also noticed dust on shelves and window seals. The hot tub was not maintained-- it smelled funny so we used some of the testing strips and discovered that the water was completely out of balance and therefore we elected to stay out of it. The view of Eugene is nice and the house is in the country, but considering the high rental rate I expected something more than dust, a broken A/C and a dirty hot tub. If you are traveling to Eugene (which is a great city with lots to do), I would recommend to look at other options before renting this house.
