Great for a family or group of friends to get together, this house is the perfect base for exploring Dumfries and Galloway.. Ground Floor:

Kitchen/dining room: With electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
Bedroom 1: With twin beds.
Separate toilet.. First Floor:
Bedroom 2: With kingsize bed, Freeview TV and en-suite with shower cubicle and toilet.
Bedroom 3: With double bed.
Bedroom 4: With twin beds.
Bathroom: With shower over bath, and toilet.. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Initial fuel for multi-fuel burner included. . Enclosed lawned garden (shared with property UK11154). Private parking for 1 car; additional parking on public car park. No smoking. Please note: The garden is separate from the property.. Hangingshaw Farm Cottages are made up of this original farm house and converted outbuildings set around a courtyard. The cottages are located next to Lockerbie Lorry Park. There is minimal noise in the cottages and the lorry park has a bar, shop and restaurant on-site. Hangingshaw is conveniently situated for the A74 making it an ideal base for exploring the Scottish Borders to the west, south into the Lake District National Park and north to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Locally in Dumfries and Galloway there are stunning abbeys, historic castles, stately mansions and long, sandy coastlines. You can enjoy long walks in every kind of beautiful scenery from rolling hills and lush forests to sweeping beaches. Hangingshaw is on a designated cycle route and there is also world class mountain biking on the 7stanes, fantastic fishing and brilliant bird watching at Caerlaverock and Mersehead. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

Summary: We had a party of 8 which throughly enjoyed the cottage, a minor problem of dead Bugs, beside a lorry park and we never heard a noise at all in our stay, we will definitely use the cottages again ... 😊

Summary: This lovely cottage was such a suprise, it was ideal for our party of 8 and our 3 dogs , the furnishings were lovely and comfortable, and the size was great , all the bedrooms were perfect, situated as it was at the lorry park , it was just a short stroll to the restaurant/cafe /bar and the food was delicious and reasonably priced, please do not let the location put you off we had a nice walk just off site and is ideally situated for lots of local amenities, the staff were so friendly and accomodating Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Summary: Absolute value for money and perfectly situated for easy access north and south which we did every day of our stay. Spacious and well equipped. Handy 24hr shop and cafe on site next to lorry park. There is also a railway behind with main road and motorway out the front, however the glazing on the property is so good you cannot hear a thing! We left two tickets (4people) valid for a year at the devil's porridge museum for other guests to enjoy. Only downsides of the stay were : only one of each bins for use by all the properties. Other users had filled recycling up with domestic rubbish and they were overflowing and unable to put our rubbish in (unfortunately we had one box of glass bottles which we regretably left in the cottage) Another long term stayer in another cottage, chose not to use their garden space for their dog, and repeatedly walked out if their way around our cottage past our dogs garden area. Did cause an issue once, as our dogs are good off the lead and good recall, hers wasn't and always remained on a lead. One of our dogs isn't very sociable and we did not expect to have others wandering past our back door via our garden area, when their garden are was directly accessible from their front door with no need to walk up our end. The boiler very fumy when kicking in. Apart from these few gripes I still fully recommend the place and will definitely visit again. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Summary: The place is old but well maintained. Comfortable place to make it a base to travel around however don’t expect too much from the location. Summary: Cottage is beautiful, spacious and very quiet. Would have preferred own garden not shared with more secure fencing for a dog that likes to get into the wooded area and come out covered in seeds and shrubbery lol. Not ideal for dog walking as next to busy lorry park and didn’t find any accessible scenic routes. Great for a base have to travel out.
