This beautiful four-bedroom cottage is located in the village of Santon, near Holmrook, and is perfect for a couples retreat or a family get-together. It provides an excellent base to explore The Western Lake District. Located in a picturesque village and within easy reach of nearby shops, pubs, towns, lakes and fells, including the shortest route up Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England, youโre spoilt for choice.
This spacious holiday home is very well-equipped and offers a range of beds and sleeping arrangements. It can comfortably sleep up to six adults and two children. There is only a dining table for six, but there are additional dining chairs around the house and an open plan living room so you can all be together. The ground floor features an open-plan living room and dining room with wood burner, and there is a boot room for your walking gear and jackets. The kitchen is well equipped and features a country-style kitchen and Belfast sink. On the first floor youโll find three comfortable bedrooms and a shower room, whilst the second floor offers an attic-style family room and bathroom. Outside is a large, enclosed lawned garden with wonderful fell views.
Santon is set in the Western Lake District, between Gosforth and Eskdale, arguably one of the most unspoilt areas of the National Park. There are several small villages, towns, and hamlets nearby, most with pubs, cafรฉโs, shops and excellent amenities. Santon Bridge, 1 mile away, has a pub, gift shop and tearoom. Gosforth, 2 miles, has a couple of good pubs serving food and local ales, an excellent convenience shop and deli, and a coffee shop/cafรฉ.
Nearby youโll find several great days out and tourist attractions including Muncaster Castle, fun for all the family, or ride the Laโal Ratty on The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. And of course, there are great walks to be had around lakes and fells, and a beach and sand dunes at nearby Drigg, 5 miles away.
