Rated at 4*, surrounded by mature landscaped gardens with a new large 14 x 7 metre pool, sun terraces and fully equipped pool house. Entrance through triple south facing glazed doors to double height lounge/mezzanine, dining and kitchen area with large wood burning stove and open fire. . Additional all year round dining in covered loggia with wood fired oven. Patio doors to private garden. Large downstairs bedroom and family bathroom and separate WC. Stairs leading to large mezzanine area with additional lounge area, plus twin bedroom and 2 large double bedrooms and further bathroom. With a large fireplace, 200 yr old exposed beams, terracotta floors and furnished classically and sympathetically with antique French and English furniture and original artworks and prints. Free, fast and unlimited WIFI is included. The Domaine is located in the Aude valley close to Carcassonne and next to the Canal du Midi at Villepinte and can be easily accessed from Autoroute A61(J22), Carcassone Airport (20 minutes) and Toulouse airport (50 mins). We have a large shaded hanger (170m2) with games including table tennis, giant jenga, darts and bar football, this space is also great for an evening aperitif!. There are Children’s swings; and benches to relax in the grounds to enjoy the spectacular views of the Pyrenees and Black Mountains. Bikes are available for a ride in the local countryside; through the vineyards and sunflowers or alongside the Canal du Midi. Many attractions within approx. 1 hour: the Mediterranean coast, Cathar castles, Medieval villages, the Pyrenees, Andorra, the ski resorts of the Ariege, and much more.

Summary: We cannot fault our excellent week at Domaine Saladry. Vickie & Neil are you everything you'd want in hosts. Attentive, creative, provide excellent communication , they’re subtle yet vigorous in their desire to make sure everything is as good as it can be for their guests. A wonderful property, fabulously clean, brilliant pool, so many delightful touches around the gite. Thank you for the most fabulous time - we hope to be back!

Summary: The welcome started before our arrival, we really appreciated emails with precise directions, "any requests?" etc. Upon our arrival the friendly, helpful owners greeted us & made sure we would be comfortable. We loved the spaciousness of the rooms also their cleanliness. The extent of the grounds meant that everyone had plenty of space, & room for activities. We hope to go back.

Summary: Neil and Vickii were excellent hosts and nothing was too much, even down to the DVD loan The house has everything you need and more and the space is fabulous The pool and outbuildings are second to none with the added advantage of the quiet and peaceful surroundings We rented bikes for the day and cycled along the canal , fab , stopping along the way to watch the various boats come through the mirade of locks We highly recommend a stay to chill out and relax We will definitely return Regards The Cannons

Summary: We had a fantastic family holiday staying in the two-bed Les Pins accommodation. The owners Neil and Vickie were there to greet us on arrival and proved really helpful throughout the week (without being intrusive). It's a fantastic place for a family holiday and there is lots to do within a relatively short drive. The outdoor space is great and the views superb. Our one-year-old son loved the paddling pool Neil set up for him and my parents loved the local area for walks (particularly along the nearby canal). Vickie was kind enough to show us the other two other bigger gites too and they were fabulous. We hope to return again as a bigger group in the future.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at Les Acacias which is in a beautiful spot and immaculately maintained with lovely grounds. The property is stylish and comfortable with king size beds and plenty of space, in fact we had difficulty choosing between the bedrooms! We found the supermarket at Bram really convenient, it's just a short drive away and had everything you need, plus the centre of Bram has local shops and a food market mid week. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

Summary: Les Acacias is really a very spacious and tastefully decorated accomodation. We have spend four nights there as a family with two small kids and the grandparents and loved it very much. Domaine Saladry is a real paradise for the whole familiy which offers fantastic views from the grounds as well as even from the window in the kitchen. The pool is just amazing, clean, well maintained and also with a great view. The welcome was very friendly we felt comfortable from the first second. Vickie and Neil are lovely people and great hosts. We would definitely recommend this accomodation and if we will ever come back to this part of France we would be very happy to stay there again.

Review #14932152 “3 Stylish Gites With Large Pool Near Carcassonne” Fantastic views. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The grounds of this property are lovely with lots of space to wander around and for children to play safely. The views from all aspects are wonderful. The pool is much bigger than most holiday properties have and is enclosed, again with fantastic views. There are lots of games available which is great for entertaining a mixed age group with something for everyone. The owners are very helpful and kindly recommended places to visit. Carcassonne is a must to visit, we went twice during our stay, the first time it was raining but we still enjoyed visiting this beautiful place. The second time we also took a boat trip which Vicki recommended which we all enjoyed. There are lots of small towns worth a visits in the area and also further afield. It's a lovely area of rural France. It is a fair bit out of the village and quite a walk to go to collect bread so we drove down. The actual village is very small with only one restaurant which offered pretty average food. We hired bikes from the owners at a very reasonable rate but be prepared , you need to leave a deposit which considering we had already given a deposit ofon arrival in case of damages to the property, we thought this was a bit excessive. We hired the bikes twice and really enjoyed the rides along the canal du Midi.A teapot would have been welcome for us Brits and the knives could do with being a bit sharper, apart from this the gite is very well equipped. We were a large party staying and the addition of a dishwasher would have been great and as I have one at home I found this to be a real chore whilst on holiday. Little touches like having enough loo roll to last a couple of days and some soap in the bathrooms for hand washing would also add value. It would be helpful to know that guests need to bring swimming towels as we had to buy some whilst we were there, maybe I missed seeing this on the websi

Summary: My family and I travelled to the Languedoc region for a week’s holiday and booked Neil and Vicky's gite based on the ample photo's provided and information supplied by the couple. On arrival everything was not only as described and photographed but more...a welcoming bottle of wine, a tour around the house and gardens, lots of local information ptovided about markets, restaurants, towns and vineyards to visit. They couldn’t have been more helpful. The house is very tastefully done, keeping with the original farmhouse feel yet brand new bathrooms, kitchen, etc. The swimming pool is spectacular with views over the Pyrenes. There is an outdoor games area with pool table, darts, foosball, as well as seating to relaxing away from the heat of the sun, with a kir of course!! We picked pears, apples and figs for breakfast from the many trees around the property. We also had the opportunity to rent bikes from the Neil and cycled along the Canal du Midi, only 5 minutes cycle away from the house. All in all it was a fantastic holiday and we couldn't feel more indebted to Neil and Vicky for making our stay unforgettable. Summary: We had a lovely stay in les Acacias, helped by the weather which was absoutely glorious. The house was well described and more than lived up to our expectations, it was well equipped, clean and comfortable in a rural location with magnificent views. There were gardens and plenty of outside space to enjoy a glass of excellent local wine and the pool was a good size although a bit chilly for some of us to do more than put a toe in! The temperature didn't stop the younger members of the party having fun splashing and swiming. We enjoyed visiting local villages, restaurants and the market at Revel, not to mention borrowing cylces to ride along the towpath of the Canal di Midi. The owners were obliging and helpful and able to suggest the local places of interest. They recommended the mini supermarket/garage on the outskirts of the local village and we certainly endorse the recommendation for all basic food stuffs - especially the bread - and indeed more than the basics. We would certainly recommend the property to friends and thoroughly enjoyed our six days. Thanks to Neil and Vickie for making it such a great stay.

Summary: This was our first time in this area of France and it did not disappoint. As would appear typical of French farms,on first appearance (which is the rear) it looks a bit shabby, however, from the front it is clearly looked after and the inside, beautifully renovated. The grounds are great, the pool is fantastic, owners very knowledgeable in regards to the local area. When Neil and Vicky tell you a market or a place is worth a trip, listen because they are right. There is as much or as little to do in the local area so the property location is ideal. Would thoroughly recommend both the property and area and have every intention of returning to both.
