4 Bedroom Cottage in Chestertown

This is a weekly rental (Saturday to Saturday, 7 nights) during the summer season (June 15-Sept 1). Shorter length stays available on the shoulders and off-season (2 night min). Cottages available May 1 till Oct 31. Lodge available all year.
Linens, towels and paper goods NOT provided. Garbage to be taken to onsite dumpster. Recycling must be taken to local landfill.
#5 Fireside cottage at Birchwood Cottages at Loon Lake, Chestertown NY - This cottage has 2 bedrooms (1 queen, 2 twins), a large living/dinning space and a kitchen and will comfortably sleep 4+ (for out couch in living room), and a classic camp style bath with shower. Great screened in porch with daybed and wonderful lake views!
We offer plenty of private parking for vehicles, boats and their trailers, cable television, wifi, campfire pit, and charcoal grill. Swim area with floating dock, 20' long deep water boat dock, and sandy beach are available for no additional charge between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Enjoy fishing, swimming, boating and picnicking on beautiful Loon Lake or the many other Adirondack Lakes nearby. Visit Lake George's famous attractions just a short 25 minute drive away. Spend time at neighboring fun spots including Frontier Town, Schroon Lake, Natural Stone Bridge and Caves, Scenic Gore Mountain -- gondola rides, and Ausable Chasm! Horseback riding and golfing are also available nearby!
All well behaved pets are welcome at Birchwood! Small pet fee is extra. We do ask that they remain leashed at all times while on our property. Please pick up after your pets indoors and outdoors. We prefer that they remain downstairs if staying in the Lodge and off the beds/furniture in all units (as to help keep allergens to a minimum).
Due to NYS Department of Health regulations, dogs are not allowed at the beach, in the designated swim area. We do however, have plenty of lakefront shoreline for dogs to enjoy, docks to jump from and some shallow exit areas as well. If you are using Birchwood as a base for a day trip, we ask that you take your pet with you. If that's not possible, we'd be more than happy to recommend a local "pet day care". Leaving your pet behind without supervision is not permitted. We don't want them to be frightened or rowdy while you're away -- after all they should enjoy vacation as well.
Additional cottages available on property for the extended family that wants their own space at additional cost. Rec Room is open to all Birchwood guests.
You must provide email address for forwarding of lock box access code, beach waiver, etc. Off VRBO communication is automated and limited. Every reservation requires acknowledgement of receiving and reviewing the Property Rules and Terms of Service.

Summary: We had a great week at Birchwood Cottages!! The cottage itself was clean and tidy. We enjoyed the kayaks, SUP boards, beach toys, etc that they have available for everyone to use. We were there during a major storm, and lost power. We immediately were checked on and assured that the generator was on so we would at least have water. Hosts were quick to respond to any questions we had. My youngest is already asking for us to book for next summer.

Summary: Spectacular weekend AMAZING weather INCREDIBLE views our cabin was perfect and our host's we're so attentive, patient and so friendly. OH and best of all the Loon greeted us apon our arrival. Thank you Patrick and Margo we'll definately be back

Summary: We had a great weekend get away much thanks to Margo for accommodating us on short notice. Enjoyed the cabin , the evening fires , the grounds were well kept , got some great photos kayaking with the lions . Very nice stay would definitely recommend and return .

Summary: The property is a part of a group of cottages, this particular cottage has wonderful lake views and is less than a one minute walk to the beach across the street. There are very few public beaches at this lake so having a private beach for these properties is very nice. The cottage was small but a perfect size for the group of four we had. There are many outdoor amenities they offer such as firewood for a fire pit right outside the cottage, kayaks, floats and beach chairs. We did not like how you had to provide your own sheets and towels, this is very uncommon for a home rental. We also found an open tupperware container in the refrigerator with food still in it among other food left in the refrigerator and freezer which led us to believe the cottage wasn't cleaned very well. Since we had to pay a cleaning fee prior to our stay, we did not really appreciate having to provide our own sheets and towels and having food left from someone else. There was also a disconnection between the property management company and the VRBO website. I was made to sign a contract without being told until after I had already paid for the visit. There were also multiple discrepancies about details on the website and contract, which made me nervous to sign the contract.
