Cozy mountain cottage right in town. Easy walk to downtown Main Street, only 4/10 of a mile. Neighborhood streets are great for hiking. Private setting surrounded by mountain laurels and rhododendrons. The home features open living area with vaulted ceilings, stone fireplace with gas logs and wood floors throughout. Almost all wood interior for a true mountain experience. The kitchen features sandstone counter tops with upscale appliances. A large screened porch is an added feature as a place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The single car garage is connected to the house by a breezeway.
Only 6 minute walk to downtown. Level lot with 1 step entry to house. Large Screen Porch to enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Summary: Enjoyed my 4 days at Mountain Laurel Cottage. While close, even walking distance to town, it is in a quiet neighborhood that is nice to walk around. The screened in porch had comfortable furniture and good lighting. The shower worked well as did all the other appliances. House rules and helps were clearly notated. The fridge is under counter but ample. I so appreciated the quiet at the end of a busy day.

Summary: Nice, comfy, quiet, and private cottage on the far edge of Highlands. Nicely furnished and equipped. We visited the town for our anniversary. Great town and area. Well documented info package— make sure to follow Bill’s directions when you get close, not Google maps!! Google will get you lost! My wife enjoyed the screened in porch for breakfast and relaxing. We’d stay here again if in the area.

Summary: The Mountain Laurel Cottage exceeded our expectations in every way! The entire property is lovely. The owner, Bill, contacted us upon arrival to make sure that our check in went smoothly. The house is clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed - it felt like home. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch and the wooded views from the windows. Also, the walk to town is indeed just minutes, plus there is a nearby trail you can take that ends in the downtown area if you want a longer, more scenic walk and some light exercise. We will definitely return to this property!

Summary: We stayed at the cottage during a family wedding weekend in the Highlands. It was super cute and clean, and had everything we needed. Our host was very clear and communicative and we really appreciated that. Definitely in the price range there's not anything else better. We'd highly recommend a stay here!
