2 Bedroom Cottage in Bona
Miller's house completely renovated with respect for the buildings, and partly made with natural and non-polluting materials (hemp, lime, wood, Puisaye ochres, etc.). The owner, passionate about mills and nature, will be happy to share her passions with you if you wish. You will also be welcomed by an adorable 5-year-old shepherd dog who is very well educated.
You can visit the old water mill which stopped turning in 1954 when the last miller, Jean Thomas, fell ill. This small mill (already existing in the Middle Ages and mentioned on the Cassini Map) was lucky enough to retain all its mechanisms, its bucket wheel which, according to the expression, was supplied from "above" thanks to the water supply channel which still passes under the path, its millrace and the old water reserve... You will discover it in its original state and will be able to admire its gears, its millstones, its sifter... and even the tools for operating and maintaining the mill, evidence of the miller's know-how.
The cottage is attached to the owner's house, in a quiet area at the end of the path, and has private parking. You will enjoy a lovely view of the meadows and the forest, and will be lulled by the water of the small waterfall as well as by the song of the birds. It is an ideal place to recharge your batteries, with a hiking trail passing in front of the cottage. On the terrace to the South, above the mill wheel, the deckchairs await you for a sunbath. If you prefer the cool, you will settle into the armchairs facing the river. A barbecue is at your disposal.
On the raised ground floor, living room with dining area, kitchen and wood stove. The living room overlooks the river, the waterfall, the meadows and the forest. Upstairs a cozy living room will welcome you (sleeping for 1 additional person in the sofa bed) on the mezzanine and serves 2 bedrooms: 1 with 1 bed 160x200 (can be separated into 2 beds 80x200); the other with 1 bed 180x200 (can be separated into 2 beds 90x200) + 1 bed 90x190. The bedding is new and of quality (made in Autun). Each bedroom has its own bathroom (large shower) and toilet.
Very strong commitment to the preservation of the environment, this cottage located in "Natura 2000 Zone" and part of the "Refuges LPO" network, is also labeled "Gîte PANDA" (WWF).
