Summary: Great house near the base of Timberline Mountain. Quiet, very clean and cozy environment. Been going to this area for several years to ski and this was one of the best spots we have stayed.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It's hard to recommend a place you want to continue to go to every year...will someone else get there first? Well, I highly recommend CR Mountain Home as the perfect location to explore and hike the Canaan Valley region. A superior golf course is 10 minutes away, you're 20 minutes from Davis and 25 from Blackwater Falls and Thomas. This property is perfect - two baths and 3 full bedrooms. The master suite has a new mattress, the fireplace, grill and hot tub are ready to enjoy. A new outdoor bench with gas-powered fire pit faces the sunset. The property is in superior condition, well-maintained and within 20 minutes of Cafe Milo and Sirianni's in Davis...also the local coffee shop is really great. This is a great place to stay! Highly recommend using Best of Canaan as your rental agency - they are warm, helpful and will do everything to accommodate extensions and emergencies. Best of all, their prices are WAY below the on-line services most use!

Only suggestion I have is that there needs to be a guide on how to use the AC unit. We could not figure it out, but fortunately it did not get too hot, so we were ok. Last year when we stayed at Paradise Falls, we had the same experience. Instructions would be helpful. Thank you!

Reviewer Comments: This place is always clean, simple to check in and out of, superbly located. Kitchen is stocked properly and beds are comfortable enough.Only downside is that the hottub has not worked for 2 years (it works but does not go above probably mid-90s, even though the temperature gage on the tub will tell you it is maxed out at 104). Kind of a bummer. Wish they would fix it, as we're certainly not the the only people who mentioned this and desire it for use while staying.

Amazing sunsets from the porch, located half way between Davis and Thomas, this rental property is superb.

Summary: We can't say enough about this lovely home. Very clean, spacious, comfortable beds, great showers, cozy decor, good location for hiking the nearby trails. We LOVED the family room with it's gas fireplace, comfy rockers, and great views. Also enjoyed the hot tub (appreciated the beach towels provided) and fire pit (bring your own wood). The Mountain Owl Market down the road is a great stop for grabbing lunch/coffee. Can't go wrong renting this home. Our family looks forward to returning.
