Summary: We were warmly welcomed by our host, who showed us through our excellent gite, and the pool and the spa area. Sandrine also gave us lots of tips for our sightseeing travels throughout the region. Our gite was so well equipped, very clean, nicely furnished, and had a very comfortable bed and great rainfall shower. It was great to have our own private outdoor area, table and chairs, electric barbecue, and lounge chairs - as well as use of the pool and spa. We spent two weeks exploring the many towns around us, both by car and on our bikes, taking in the sights and learning some of the very long history! Sandrine’s communication with us was fantastic! Thank you for making our stay such a pleasant experience! We would certainly recommend a stay here, and will be telling all our friends about our wonderful holiday in very relaxing surrounds!

Summary: Our 2-bedroom gite "Chez Sandrine" :) was even more appealing than the images shown. The construction of the building is first class with high-quality elements all around. For example, the doors have seals added to their frames so that they close quietly and completely; all windows are double-glazed; the showers have three settings: overhead, body (below the head), and handheld; and the decorations in the gite are tasteful. Overall, the gite is modern and relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the washer and dishwasher are 'hidden' behind cabinet fronts which makes the look and feel of the kitchen even calmer. Also, the windows have outside shutters that are motorized--I was amazed how silently they go up and down, it didn't even wake me up! I did not realize that there are a total of four gites on the property in addition to the owner's main building. All four gites plus the owner's family share the outdoor spaces. While that was not a problem at all--an international set of residents--I would have liked to know that ahead of time. Badarrides is a great location if this is your first stay in the area. With a car, day trips to Avignon, Orange, Vaison-la-Romaine, and all the wine areas are accessible within less than an hour's drive. For us, since we have been in the area four times already and wanted to bicycle, we 'trekked' up to the Mt. Ventoux area most days to bike, and that got a little old. Grocery shopping choices are available within short driving distances--10 min or so. Sandrine goes out of her way to inquire whether her guests are comfortable, whether she can help with information and tips, and whether the gite is appointed with what's needed. I recommend her Gites aux Provence wholeheartedly to anybody who is looking for a central home base to explore that area of Provence.

Summary: This is a great location for discovering the area; this means Provence but especially Vaucluse. If you love wine, this area is for you. From the bedroom you take in Chateauneuf du Pape. The winemakers and wine dealers are everywhere. Food and restaurants abound. Avignon can be reached by train in less than 15 minutes.
