Summary: The photo’s show it all. Delphine and Christoph are super hosts. The house has got this medieval charm, but with modern equipment, which worked well. Because of the thick walls the house was pleasantly cool while temperatures outside were very high. Very suitable for 2 couples.

Summary: Rocamadour itself offers plenty of historical interest, as well as outdoor activities suitable for families. Good places to eat, and amazing views. We enjoyed day trips to Pech Merle Caves, Autoire with its charming town and peaceful woodland walk to the cascade, the medieval centre of Carennac, canoeing at Copeyerie, incredible rock face town of Roque Gageac and the chateaux of Pannonie, and Chateau de Montal near St Cere. There is enough to entice us back for many years to come. A few idiosyncrasies like a blocked sink drain, are just part of the character. Definitely essential to arrive at the town in daylight, to navigate the difficult road system, find car parking, and find the house at the bottom of the hill.

Summary: A truely special place in the lovely medieval town of Rocamadour. We were four Americans visiting the area and found our accommodation comfortable and very special. Contacting our hosts was easy, though we most often had to use the wifi at the visitor bureau. We understand wifi will be available next year. The kitchen was fully equipped with all that we needed. Parking was not a problem. It is less than a 5 minute walk from the valley floor. When arriving, keep in mind that the road through Rocamadour is one way from the top to the bottom of the hill and the accommodation is located just before the 4th arch near the valley floor.

Summary: We had a wonderful week in this flat in Rocamadour. It is located near the bottom of the Main Street, a short walk (but a steep hill) from the Main Street shopping area. The flat is in a wonderful, old building, beautifully rebuilt. The view over the valley is awe inspiring. This is our fourth visit to Rocamadour and there is a lot to see and do in the beautiful Dordone valley. We went to two local markets in outlying cities (Gourdon and Soulliac), visited a dozen little villages and several castles and chateaus. Sarlat and Figeac are a little farther away, but worth the trip. Two days can be spent exploring Rocamadour and we took a third to hike down the valley 10 Kms to an abandoned mill for a picnic. We love Rocamadour and the Dordone.

Summary: My husband and I spent four wonderful days at this lovely home in Rocamadour. The photos don't do it justice; the home is large but also cozy with its wood burning fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped and we prepared several delicious meals in it using products purchased at nearby farmers' markets. The home itself is decorated in a way that made us feel instantly at home. Its location in Rocamadour is perfect; just a few steps down the lane to the organic grocery with its charming grocer and just a few more steps up the lane to the center of the village and several good restaurants and bars. In addition to being spectacular in and of itself, Rocamadour is a great location for day trips to neighboring villages and valleys. Although there is no parking right at the home, you can unload your things at the door and then park in an area just below the house. We would certainly recommend this home to friends who are traveling in this part of France. Delphine and Christophe were delightful and very accommodating hosts.
