Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Convenient to all the activities available in the Adirondacks such as skiing, hiking, biking, swimming and just relaxing, the AuSable House is perfectly located. Six miles is all the travel you need to get to either Whiteface Mountain or Keene to access premier skiing and mountain biking or to access the High Peaks and become a 46er. This is a pet friendly property. No restrictions on size.
You will have access to the entire house and yard.
I, or my assistant Beth, will be able to respond to requests during your stay. I am usually reachable by text.
Rural area but close to a great cafe for breakfast and lunch and a chef-owned restaurant for lunch or dinner.
You will need your car to go most places.
There is foosball table in the basement for your enjoyment.
We ask of you upon departure that all food is removed from fridge & freezer.
Trash is taken care of.
Appliances are all off.
Gather dirty linen and put it in the bathroom.
Double check for any personal belongings. If anything is left behind the item will be mailed to you and you will be charged shipping fees.

Summary: The location was perfect, easy booking, receive arrival details in a timley manner. Residence was clean. The one shower being an old clawfoot tub was then desirable. We sent a message and called the contact number with some additional questions and never received a response during our stay. Summary: We immediately felt at home here. The house is updated and modern inside but still feels like a cozy Adirondack cabin. We loved having two bathrooms and extra bedrooms to spread out with luggage. From past experience, we bring our own linens, cleaning supplies, and assorted housewares, but we didn’t need to use any of it, because this house was so well equipped and clean. The extra attention to detail like matching sets of dishes, silverware, bedspreads, sheets, and name brand soaps, lotions, and bath products really made it extra enjoyable. In some vacation rentals you can tell that the owners picked up a bunch of odds and ends at a thrift store, but this was definitely not the case here. We also appreciated that the house had cleaning supplies available under the sink, and access to a swiffer and vacuum, as we had our dog with us and wanted to keep the house tidy during our stay. Loved the location across from the Ausable River, the big yard, long driveway, and that the neighbors were a good distance away on either side. The only downside was that the grass was really long. That was not ideal since we needed to use the yard daily to exercise our dog. If we stay here again, we hope the grass will be mowed shorter before arrival. Thank you for a great vacation!

Summary: Kitchen window had great views of wildlife, fawns, wild turkey, woodchucks bluejays, red wing blackbirds and herons. Loved the location for hiking. Barbara brought air conditioners when the temperature went up. Much appreciated. Would love to book next year.

Summary: My family and I stayed during the week of Ironman. It was such a perfect place for us! It’s a quaint place with lots of Adirondack charm. Very cozy and comfortable. The large property made it quiet and private. The yard is huge and gave the kids plenty of space to play! We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again in the future!

Summary: The cottage was very conveniently located for hiking a few mountains in the Adirondacks. Very clean and well maintained, the grass had just been cut for our arrival. Easy accessible since close to the road 9N but very quiet. It is surrounded by nature so you will hear frogs and birds and other animals, it is a very nice place to relax and enjoy nature. Comfortable beds, the cottage looks small from the outside however it was very spacious to accommodate our small group of six adults. We couldn’t find a cork screw :-( but that was the only downside and didn’t have any impact on our overall rating of ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Summary: This property worked very well our family trip to Whiteface. We have never been to Whiteface before and were there for the U14 Easterns alpine championships. The size worked very well for our family of five and when we decided to come last minute a day early, the owner quickly responded and made it happen.
