ROCKY RIDGE is an adorable 1957 cabin located on a 1 acre lot surrounded by outcroppings of rocks and spectacular views! Large windows in the living area allow you to gaze out onto the beautiful landscape of lakes, mountains, and wildlife.
Guests of this charming cabin can fish in 13 surrounding lakes - 9 of which are PRIVATE and reserved only for home owners and their guests. A daily fishing pass will need to be purchased to fish the private lakes so please inform the home owner if you would like this extra bonus . To fish the public lakes all you need is a Colorado state fishing license.
This cabin is completely furnished... all you need to bring is the food!

Summary: This is a really great central Red Feather retreat cabin. We so enjoyed a short retreat in this mountain community. Several lakes are within minutes and there is plenty of hiking right out the door and nearby. If you like fishing, the host's dad (Bill) can get you fishing passes to private lakes. Order passes in advance as he can only buy them on certain dates. Romona had a lot of evening fish rise. There is a great patio with fire pit right out the front door. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows and delicious steaks cooked over open flame. Mmmm! This place is a rustic mountain cabin and should be enjoyed as such. The kitchen is really well equipped and worked great. There is a gas BBQ too. The concerns about water noise are legitimate. My guess is the well struggles to keep up and you hear a lot of air in the system. The sound from the back bathroom sounds a bit like a bad car starter fighting with a rabid raccoon. It is a mountain cabin. We would definitely go back to this cabin!

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin and would stay again. The front porch and fire pit are wonderful for relaxing and we appreciated that fire wood was supplied. The cabin is rustic but clean and has a well-stocked kitchen and a gas grill. The location is close to Dowdy Lake and West Lake and not too far off of the paved road. The plumbing makes crazy noises but there is plenty of hot water. Bring earplugs, as the beds are very creaky.

Summary: Some windows didn't have blinds in them. One in the living room and in the master bedroom. I thought that was odd and didn't provide much privacy. I didn't appreciate the windshimes outside of the master bedroom. The fireplace was nice to have. The cabin was nicely decorated.
