Summary: The property was as advertised. It was very rural and close to a single track road. We struggled with communication, and finding our way around. Our stay would have been better if things were explained to us, like how to get food. Rickshaws were available but difficult to find at first. We stayed for five weeks and wish we had known that the sheets were nylon. We could have brought our own sk cotton bottom sheet. However the house is in a very beautiful setting and we miss Kerala already. We had the chance to watch rural India, enjoy the sun and rest.In hindsight I wish I had negotiated how often the pool should be cleaned, as it got dirty quite quickly with the dust from the road.We had a good time, enjoying a trip on the backwaters and visits to Kovalam Beach.

Summary: We were staying in Kerala in order to carry out some stressful affairs and so it was important to have a stay in a place that would contribute to reducing the stress! The villa was well maintained and the plunge pool was very much enjoyed by our 12 year old. We felt welcome and the family who lived next to the property were friendly and helpful. The airport transfers were so useful and the area was peaceful and tranquil. Thank you to Willi and his family!

Summary: From the moment I was met at the airport, the service provided by the owner & staff of this property was excellent. I rented Villa Lake View for 8 weeks to escape the cold dark months of January & February in England. I invited some friends to join me to share this wonderful villa in such a beautiful part of India. We are all retired people and are fortunate to be able to take extended breaks. The Villa itself was stunning and even more impressive than the advertising photos. The location was tranquil being opposite a plantation leading to the lake. Local people were very friendly & welcoming. The local village was a short tuk tuk ride away and had a range of shops, temples, churches and generally a vibrant community. Kovalam Beach was about 15 minutes by tuk tuk with its range of cafes, shops & activities including yoga & Ayurvedic treatments. It was easy to get there and did required booking rides there and back with around an hours notice. However, we enjoyed the setting, luxury and atmosphere Villa Lake View offered, rather than being in the bustle of the beach resort. The Villa itself is extremely well equipped, especially the kitchen. Bedrooms and en suite bathrooms were very comfortable as were the dining and lounge areas. The plunge pool was most welcome as the weather was very hot and sunny during our visit. Anidha & Chikku were amazing hosts, being attentive & responsive to requests without being overbearing. I cannot praise Anidha more highly-she was always prepared to go out of her way to ensure we had everything we required and requested. Any downsides? Only the biting insects and there was little more that could be done about those. There were some issues with water supply during our visit, but work to remedy the problem was being carried out. I would recommend this wonderful property without hesitation & I certainly intend to stay there again.

Summary: The house is situated in Venganoor, a village at a short distance from Vizhinjam-Kovalam junction in a peaceful and scenic position right on the banks of the Vellayani lake. Public transportations are available 600mt away but an autorisciò station is just 50 mt away and btw the staff can arrange private car rides and scooter rental. The house was spotless other than pleasingly furnished and equipped with all the kitchen tools you may require as well as plenty of towels included in the weekly linen changes. The staff is the most commendable and dependable I have ever found in a holiday home. Anida e Cikku were literally at our beck and call providing informations, cooked food, extra cleaning, etc all in all delivering a superb customer care. In the garden there is a resident cat, called Ba, very vocal and affectionate, he became our mascotte for the whole stay, he likes the leftovers, fish especially, but would be happier with wet cat food (you can buy from the medical shop) give him also a cuddle from me <3. A great thank you to Willi the German owner who took care of the communications during the booking, providing all the necessary information and directions. I will go back for sure even if not for staying (I rented an apartment in Trivandrum) just to say hi to the lovely people around (the lady at tea stall that makes the best snacks in miles, the smiling shopkeeper in the same road of the villa, Anida and Ponnu of course and to check on Ba. See you soon Villa kae View we have very fond memory of the time spent there.

Summary: This property is an excellent choice, should you wish to be close enough to a resort to enjoy its amenities, whilst experiencing the wonders of Indian village life. Set in a stunning area in a rural part of Kovalam only a 10 minute tuktuk ride from the beach, this really is a beautiful property. It's spacious, clean and well equipped, it's views and surroundings are lush. We loved the roof top terrace, where we overlooked the village, watching the wonderful array of birds and wildlife, as well as enjoying observing the locals going ahead with everyday life. It was a joy to meet the local children, who entrerained us with their antics. It would be hard to experience this if you are just in a hotel in a resort. Taxis, tuktuks, cars and drivers can be all arranged by Annita, who lives close by and who kindly cares for the villa. Annita and her lovely family were truly a blessing, nothing was too much for them, she maintains the villa and its gardens beautifully and we are truly grateful for all their hard work during our stay. We would be more than happy to recommend this villa to anyone, especially those who enjoy bird watching as the lake is a short walk away and birds are plentiful. It makes a wonderful base, and we were able to explore more of Kerala from here. Thank you Willie and family, for allowing us to share such an incredible experience. We loved every minute.

Summary: I really don't quite know where to start. First things first...we slightly changed our travel plans and arrived a day early in Kovalam, not sure whether we would have to take a hotel for the night. I omitted to take the owner's telephone number with me to India and so we just turned up at the door step. We immediately were made to feel really welcome by Willi, Molly and Leo and allowed to start our stay early. The owner and his family could not have been nicer and this set us off to a really good start. The villa and its surroundings are absolutely breathtaking. Beautifully maintained grounds, lush palm trees and plants and the immaculately maintained house made this an exuberantly luxurious stay which left nothing at all to be desired for. Walk a couple of minutes and you find yourself directly on the lake, which in itself is stunningly beautiful and invites for silent contemplation during a relaxing walk. Even though Willi and his family were close by, they were so discreet that we hardly noticed them at all, yet always to hand and happy to help when we needed them. They are a lovely family and had some great recommendations for us in relation to eating out, sights and trips. There are so many other things worth mentioning that made this the perfect holiday... the stunning veranda, the pool, the lofty spaces in the villa, Spikey the dog, and so much more. Renting this villa for the two weeks we stayed there was worth every penny and we can wholeheartedly recommend this as a perfect place to stay, when visiting Kovalam or its surrounding areas. One last thing to mention is that it took us a little time to find the villa, despite the owner having giving us detailed instructions on how to get there. Google maps and rikshaw drivers eventually pointed us in the right direction. VELLAYANI LAKE and KATTUKULAM have been the words that helped us to arrive. Great destination, beautiful surroundings, stunning, comfortable villa with super relaxing pool and lovely, lovely people. We'll be back for more...

Summary: A superb house in a lovely out of the way area. Much appreciated were the sun terrace and swimming pool. The nearby lakes are glorious with some excellent walks. We were well cared for by Jose and family. The welcome pack (including Kingfisher beer!) was very extensive and much appreciated. The house is off the tourist track but auto rickshaws are readily available. Be aware that February is religious festival time and the local temple is very noisy. This was our second visit to Kerala and it really is wonderful.
