Positive: The receptionist was very kind and helpful (I think she might also work in the kitchen). The included breakfast was tasty, and having free on-site parking was super convenient. Also, the rooms come with balconies.
Negative: The property feels a bit outdated. There is no air conditioning, but they do provide a fan in the room.
Summary: Very good value for money

Positive: It's really typical. It feels like you're back to the USSR era. The ambience is good with a lot of locals
Negative: It's old, not clean. No one speaks english. It's very far from the heart of Nitra. About 5 km. But you can use Bolt application to get very cheap rides there.

Positive: Very nice staff — they try to smooth over all the shortcomings, but it’s impossible.
Negative: It was a very mixed experience. The hotel is located almost outside the city limits, built a long time ago, and the furniture clearly hasn’t been replaced since. The textiles (curtains, carpet, upholstery) are also from that same time. Everything is very worn out. There are “no smoking” signs everywhere, but the hotel is heavily smoke-stained. The towels are small and thin, they only give you a tiny bar of soap, no shampoo, no hair dryer, no air conditioning. Reception is open from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The hotel has a café, but it’s not operating. At reception you can only buy beer, wine, or chips — 4–5 items, that’s it. If you happen to get the regular breakfast buffet, then you’re lucky. If not, they’ll just bring you a plate with whatever they decide. I never figured out how the breakfast system actually works.

Positive: Breakfast was excellent. maybe the best scrambled eggs of the trip. Do not be put off by first impressions when you arrive. The rooms are fine and the bathrooms had been recently refurbished. Nice and warm.
Negative: The restaurant was closed in the evenings but its a short drive into Nitra where we found both a car park and McDonalds.
