Positive: Superb welcome from the staff and high levels of hospitality. A wonderful breakfast served in the breakfast room or outside on the pretty patio. Quiet, extremely comfortable rooms, a relaxing library and access 24 hours to tea and excellent coffee in the lounge. Easy walking distance to the waterfront and convenient parking on site. Highly recommended.

Positive: The breakfast was a highlight for us. Walking distance to the harbour and very comfy bed.
Negative: Whilst the older style suits the area and gives the hotel character, in practical terms it didn’t suit us. The bathroom was the size of a broom cupboard, the light switches/plugs were in a weird spot the sink was in the bedroom. I can see the appeal for an older couple but maybe just not for us.

Positive: The staff were very friendly & accommodating. The hotel offers complimentary coffee/tea/water in their sitting area & library. The complimentary snacks at happy hour were excellent, as was the breakfast. Our room was spacious & very comfortable. The central location of the hotel was very good. We will certainly stay here again!

Positive: The staff was amazing. Every single person went out of their way to make you welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had. Sit down with different choices each day and you got to reserve your time. It was excellent. They had lots of special touches like cookies upon arrival, snacks in the afternoon, wine available in the “library “ for a small fee. They had everything you needed available in the room also. The decor was beautiful also.
Negative: It is not very accessible if you have mobility issues. They have some accessible rooms but you need to be sure and book those directly with the hotel. The person who checked us in did carry out luggage up the stairs for us. Again, the people were great! The jetted tube was nice but if you wanted a shower it is very tall and difficult to get in and out of. They did supply grab bars per request which helped. My husband felt the chairs were not comfortable and there was not good lighting if you wanted to sit and read in your room at night.
Summary: We loved the feel of the hotel and would recommend it.
