Welcome to On Top of Maxwell. Upon entering the home you will be drawn to relax on the living room couch. The chef in you will be inspired by the fully equipped kitchen, and you can enjoy your meal at the dinning room table. Don't want to cook? No problem- you are going to be staying near some of DC's best restaurants within walking distance. Each bedroom has a queen bed and lots of storage space to unpack and stay awhile. Two full size bathrooms, one in the hallway, and one en suite to the primary bedroom.
The Space:
This is the perfect space for your DC stay. Located right across the street from the DC Convention Center, yellow/green line metro stop, and literally, right on top of Maxwell, one of DC's most popular restaurants'. Guests have the run of the second floor apartment. It is fit for four people, with two comfy thick queen sized mattresses. The space offers full bathroom, full kitchen with a coffee maker and microwave. There is a Smart TV in the living space, so guests can stream from their personal accounts and never miss an episode! The apartment is professionally cleaned before each stay.
Nestled between Shaw and Logan Circle, On Top of Maxwell sits just steps from the historic Naylor Court and Blagden Alley.

Guests will undoubtedly find themselves nestled in one of the most historic, and sought after neighborhoods in the city!The home is located right on O Street and 9th Street, right across the street from the DC convention center. The area offers a diverse selection of entertainment, dining options, shopping, coffee shops and grocery stores. Whole Foods is a 10 min walk and Trader Joe`s is 15 minutes on foot. The 14th St. dining scene really has become the culinary center for the city with all kinds of diverse cuisines ranging from chic and trendy to the hole-in-wall hidden treasures, French, Asian, Spanish, to Oyster Bars, Diners and much more. You`ll want to take advantage of some of our favorite local recommendations.
This downtown neighborhood is in the thick of all the action; walking distance to all the new and hottest DC restaurants and bars and literally "On Top of Maxwell". Gourmet supermarkets, world class restaurants, coffee shops, gyms, yoga studios, and everything else you need to practically enjoy your stay are all a few blocks away.
Getting Around:
You could not ask for better access!! The apartment is a 14 min drive from National Airport and a 8 min drive from Union Station (Amtrak, and the hub of the major sights). The apartment is 1 block away from the Mt. Vernon (Green/Yellow Line) Metro and about a 14 min walk to the Gallery Place (Red Line). 39/45 minute drive toBaltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.Planes, trains and automobiles, it is also a short Uber ride anywhere in the city.

Please note that the apartment is located on the second level of a condo building. We ask you to please be mindful that there is a full time tenant upstairs, and you may see them using the staircase from time to time. You may also hear some everyday noises from the upstairs, but they will be mindful of you staying in the unit below, and we ask you please do the same.

Summary: Everything as described, We liked the area and with 20 -30 min walk you can reach all major places. The was some noise (more from cars in the street than from the wine bar, but did not disturb us.

Summary: Staying in a neighborhood apartment instead of a hotel was way better than I had imagined. Hotels in DC are pricey and this allowed both my co-worker and I to attend an event. We both enjoyed the relaxing vibe and the location and can't wait till next year.

Summary: Five night stay with my son, daughter-in-law, and grandsons while I was in town on business. Pros: The apartment was cute and clean. I appreciated the unique artwork and the selection of books on the shelves. The beds were very comfortable. We appreciated the coffee set up by the host. Everything we could want or need was in walking distance. Cons: The noise level on Saturday night was brutal. The traffic including loud cars thumping music and partying downstairs and nearby went on until about 4 am. Played parking roulette each day - no fun. The only tv, a small tv in the living room had a poor wi-fi connection. and was largely unusable. The sofain the living room needs replacing. It was incredibly uncomfortable with a broken leg and the cushions are beat. The dishwasher works, but be careful of the top rack.Overall: I would recommend staying here.

Summary: Apartment excess was flawless, many are not. We took their advice and secured parking across the street. The apartment was very well equipped, especially the kitchen, maybe because they own the restaurant below. Everything was in walking distance, stores, shops, sites.We were not hear long enough, due to the record snow storm, but definately will be back.

Summary: This condo is in a wonderful location and is within very short walking distance to a grocery store and several yummy restaurants. It needs more bedding for the pull-out couch and more than 1 large towel per guest, as the washing machine is small, but works fine. Parking can be difficult. It would be REALLY nice if the resident parking pass was available for use during the condo stay, but maybe that isn't an option. Your best option is to park on the block with the Hyatt Hotel. If you park on the side of the street opposite the Hyatt Hotel, it is free, and there are no limits, except for a couple of street sweeping hours on one day per week (I think it's from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays.). There is an alley nearby that doesnt have overnight parking limits on the weekends. Also, overnight parking is available at the Sunoco Convenience Store for 20 per night. We loved this condo and would stay here again!

Summary: Extremely convenient location. Close to metro, grocery nearby. Neighborhood is decent. Good restaurants a short walk away. Apartment was clean and well supplied. Communication was good, but because it's a company and not an individual you sometimes end up talking with multiple people. Regarding the few noise comments in other reviews - yes, it's a bit noisy. Yes, the windows could be upgraded. But it's the city and above a bar, and none of us needed earplugs (although our son did run the fan in the room he stayed in). Would we stay here again? Without hesitation!

Summary: The apartment was perfect! It had everything we needed and within walking distance to all we wanted to see and do. However, the bar below the apartment was noisy for about an hour before closing time. Also the construction vehicles on the street in front of the place started at 7am so no sleeping in. Other than the off hour noise it was absolutely perfect!
