For this remodeled a former Alentejo lot of mud (raw land), only with traditional techniques in an online group of houses, a total of 360 m2.

Summary: Gonçalo the owner of the property is incredibly helpful and so friendly. The property is absolutely massive, the photos do not do the property justice. All of the bedrooms are beautiful. We had such a relaxing time. The town of Santa Clara is a 10 minute drive away. It has two shops, we used one in particular to do our daily top up shop as the shop assistant was so friendly. Please have a drink in the bar next to the petrol station. Odemira is about a 50 minute drive away to do a big shop. We recommend you go to the beach at zamubeira.

Summary: We stayed at the Artists Village Mid July 2018 for a week. The house is huge on a large piece of land. The garden has many fruit trees and hammocks and shady places and a lovely pool. The house is carefully restored with great taste by Goncalo, in traditional Portugese style, using Portugese antiques and a collection of the owners artwork inside and out. Everything you need is there and we instantly felt at home, being welcomed by the lovely owner. The house is actually situated in Corte Brique, very quiet and remote in the country side, the village of Santa Clara a Velha is 6 KM away. There you find 2 well stocked little supermarkets, a church, two bars and a tourist information point. There you can also catch up on the Rota Vicentina and you can also walk 5 KM to a huge lake. We missed the artists village as soon as we drove off. And would recommend it to everyone who seeks a real rural experience in an authentic Portugese setting.

Summary: This is a quirky and beautiful house, lovingly restored by Goncalo, and containing many of his own artworks. It’s equipped with absolutely everything you need, and full of character. If you want bland, it’s not for you- but it was completely perfect for us. Beautiful garden, great pool, an hour from incredible beaches, and a short hop from a huge lake with its own beaches and pools. And a great selection of vinyl to keep us busy in the evenings. Woken up by the sound of bells from the grazing sheep. Awesome.
