Positive: The warm inviting pool, the historic beautiful building of the apartment. The breath taking view. Short walk to village shop and local taverns. The comfortable beds, cosy open plan lounge/ dining room with large, well equipped kitchen - all these rooms had this phenomenal view. All were beautiful, clean, and well kept. We were a family of 4, we stayed for a week and hired a car at Chania Airport and explored Kournas Lake, Chania Old Town, and many local beaches. We visited our lovely host Chronis' family restaurant, which is a short 5 minute drive away, the food is superb in a beautiful location surrounded by trees and grapevines, there is even a small safe playground you can watch your children play from the comfort of your dinning table. Our helpful, kind host Chronis kept in contact with us. He met us at the apartment. He even put the shopping away that I had previously ordered ahead of our visit, bless him. He also came and said goodbye when we left.
Negative: We all thought it was wonderful, no complaints. Like many villages in Crete, the roads are narrow, so choose a hire car wisely, nothing too big. We used Avis at Chania Airport.

Positive: Gorgeous property with great facilities and friendly host. Lovely pool and beautiful views from the verandas.
Negative: It was a little further from Chania than we realised; its very near Lake Kournas and Rethymnon.

Positive: We were looking for a nice house to stay in away from the touristy areas, but still close to restaurants and places to explore. We really were lucky with our choice. This house is amazingly beautiful, quiet, and it fit our needs perfectly. We were extremely comfortable and Chronis was an excellent host, making sure our visit went well. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Negative: There isn't anything we could ask for, it was perfect.

Positive: We had the best time visiting Acrothea, the hosts are amazing, so kind and helpful, they also have a lovely restaurant in town which serves great food and drinks, very welcoming. We would definitely recommend this villa to anyone and will be going back ☺️

Positive: The villa is in a beautiful old building restored to an exceptional standard. Extremely comfortably furnished and with a stunning view from the terrace of the hills to one side and the sea in front of you. There was nothing that our host hadn't thought of, we had everything we could possibly need including a well equipped kitchen and barbeque area with a fridge and plenty of charcoal. The added bonus was a mid week clean and change of bed linen and towels. The heated pool brings the temperature up to a level that will keep you comfortable for as long as you want to stay in there! The villa is located in a small village with a couple of tavernas and is mostly populated by local people which we loved. Kournas Lake is a 5 to 10 minute drive away where you can hire a pedalo and swim in beautiful freshwater. The beach and supermarkets are a 15 minute drive away and you can park close to the beaches which are not crowded. This is a truly gorgeous villa with a delightful host who has thought of everything to make your stay there perfect.
