Summary: Trout Pond was an excellent choice! The house was lovely with the right amount of space for our guests. The kitchen was nicely equipped with all the tools necessary for making great meals to share. Everything was clean and the property was lovely with birds singing and a groundhog scavenging for food. Would definitely stay there again.

Summary: We had a great time at Trout Pond Retreat which was decorated for the holiday season - such a nice touch. Beds were comfortable & the kitchen was well stocked & spacious. Large high top table in the dining area was great for putting a large jigsaw puzzle together. Approximately 45 minutes to Lake Placid but a very pleasant drive. Only about 25 minutes to Plattsburgh- mall, restaurants & movie theaters. Really nice place to relax - we didn’t use the hot tub since the weather was rainy but would be nice in the Spring - Fall. Also would have been nice to have binds or curtains on the living room windows but other than that the house was perfect for our needs & I would certainly recommend it to family & friends.

Summary: 3 empty nest couples stayed multiple nights in mid-October 2023. Home was perfect for our needs! Having 3 bathrooms was a real plus and the kitchen was stocked with a variety of pots, pans, cookie sheets, utensils, crockpots, dishes, etc. Sheila, the host, was VERY responsive to questions and made us feel special. The beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable and ruined us for all other bedding for the rest of our vacation throughout NE. Location was remote and peaceful but only 25 minutes from Plattsburgh where you can find anything including a Walmart for groceries. If you are wanting to do any leaf peeping this is a fantastic location! Hope our travels bring us back soon.

Summary: Spent time up north with family. Didn't want to be in Lake Placid but wanted to be able to go there. Found this beautiful farm house, 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. Was awesome. House was very clean and very spacious. There were 4 couples and a support dog. House was so big, we weren't in each other's space. Outside fire pit was great for a nice way to end each day. Kitchen has everything you will need. Home was nicely decorated for fall and I can only imagine how Shelia will decorate for Christmas! All bedrooms and bathrooms are really a nice size. Awesome having a bedroom downstairs right across from a bathroom. Handicap accessible, great. From this location we visited Whiteface, Lake Placid, Plattsburgh. Nice little restaurant in Wilmington, Rudy's Chalet and plenty of places to shop in Lake Placid, Plattsburgh. And then come back home, which is what this house felt like. Can't go wrong... thank you Sheila for sharing your awesome home! Wills Family

Summary: If you like antiques, you will love this property. All the comforts of home and 9 miles from Ausable Chasm. We really enjoyed our stay at the Trout Pond Retreat.

Summary: Really great home that was able to accommodate our group (7 people). The location was nice as all nearby points of interest such as hiking and Lake Placid were close drives. Mornings on the front porch were the best!
