MAISON MADELEINE
Located on our Kermarcโ€™h site but away from the farmhouse and cottage ( 1 unit ) there is Maison Madeleine which accommodates 15 in 6 bedrooms/ 4 bathrooms . These two adjoining cottages let as one unit were converted from an old 17 th century house and stable and offer very bright, comfortable accommodation. Maison Madeleine shares access to the swimming pool with the farmhouse and cottage.
There are two ground floor bedrooms ( a double and a twin)
Upstairs are 3 family bedrooms each with a double and single bed and one double bedroom
There are two shower/toilets on the ground floor and two bathroom /toilets upstairs
The houses have an open plan lounge/ kitchen and are well fitted with oven/hob,fridge/freezers,microwaves etc
There are televisions with English/French channels + DVD players
There are French doors opening on to the patio area with tables and chairs,parasols and BBQs
This property is very popular with holidaymakers with young children as you are able to sit outside and relax whilst the children play safely in view on the fort/swings/playhouse etc.
There is a large lawned area with rotary washing lines.
Only 40 minutes from the coast you will find our lovely 17/18th century hamlet of Kermarch set in 4 acres of trees, fields and gardens. Here on site you will enjoy swimming in our professionally installed 12 x 6m heated, fenced swimming pool with a shallow end and Roman steps. The pool is heated and is normally open from the end of May to the end of September. The pool is sheltered and well positioned to be in full sun all day with tables, chairs, parasols and sun loungers to relax on. Also in the grounds is a boules court, trampoline with safety net, table tennis, childrenโ€™s swing and slide, child s playhouse and activity centre, swingball, table football and badminton. We also have a large field that is kept cut for ball games (football, cricket and rounders) so that the young ones can play within sight but without disturbing the adults. Lots of space for parking in the grounds. Well behaved dogs may be accepted.There are 2 properties set in 4 acres at Kermarch with a large heated and fenced swimming pool and are suitable for large family groups/friends.

Summary: We had a relaxed, enjoyable holiday with the family. The children (ages 4 & 8) loved the swimming pool and spent most of their time there! The grounds were lovely too, with a trampoline and climbing frame, table tennis, bar footy and room to play ball games, all very thoughtfully done.

Summary: Everything you would expect from a family vacation. Very charming accomodation, a huge garden, large swimming pool, a shed with toys, ... Large supermarket (Super-U) at only a few minutes drive. We spent a lovely week with 3 families and 5 children. Our house had everything we needed as to supplies. THe walls are very thick so if you keep the doors shut during hot temperatures, the downstairs stays cool. It did get hot on the first floor, but open the windows at night and you should be fine. THe owners were very welcoming and perfect hosts, ready to help whenever we needed them. Since there are a lot of fields and farms nearby, I advise getting some sticky fly catchers, we caught A LOT of them mid august. All in all a lovely stay, I would absolutely recommend.

Summary: We had a lovely stay at the Madeleine cottage. The pool was fabulous and our kids were in it multiple times a day, weather allowing. Our kids (10,11) also enjoyed the trampoline and archery set. David and Carolyn have put together a comprehensive guide of things to do in the area (markets, beaches, landmarks, etc) which was very useful. Itโ€™s a great central spot in Brittany, so we were able to do day trips to Plougrescant, Branfรฉrรฉ animal park, Erquy, Fort La Latte and Saint Brieuc. The hosts were very responsive and also conscientious of allowing families privacy. There can be a fair share of flies (which goes hand in hand with the countryside) but that can be remedied with fly paper. This would be an absolutely excellent spot to book for a family reunion (post Covid, of course) as the space can accommodate a large group without feeling crowded. Thanks for a great stay!

Summary: We stayed in the Madeline and Marie as a family of 12 - ranging from 72 to 8yrs. Well equipped accommodation and great outside fun (pool, swing, play area, trampoline, boules court and badminton). It is easy to cater on an evening rather than having to drive . Visited the Lac Guerdalan and made use of the bike hire from a local campsite for a potter on the canal and onto some of the well signposted cycle paths. Would recommend for a get away from it all sort of holiday. David and Carolyn were quick to respond to emails prior to the holiday and made themselves available to help if we had a question. Enjoyed by all.

Summary: Kermarch is a little Jewel in the Brittany countryside! You can spend all day in the wonderful surroundings with lots to do and plenty of things to keep you entertained. So much space and the pool...well WOW! What fun we had. So much for the kids to do plus the wifi! The kids made the most of that! We ventured out a few times, mainly on the 2 rainy days we had, but also took a walk on a hot day into the local town where we ate and were very well looked after. This was an 5 mile round trip and with 7 kids under 12 we didn't think we'd make it. But we did and a lovely walk it was too! The pool totally made up for the blisters at the end. We visited lake guarledan and took a trip into Saint Brieuc.. both were stunning and very quick and easy to get to. All in all a fabulous week which we shall all remember fondly. We would definitely revisit and 100% recommend. Thank you Carolyn and David for having us. You have a wonderful place!

Summary: Had a tremendous time on the property, which fully matched with the description and our expectations. Very helpfull owners. I definately would recomment this property especially ifyou want to step away from the daily hectic. Point of attention oud the avialabilty of restaurants in the direct neighbourhood.Closed due to vacation.(August) Want to mention especially the pool. The pool was very clean, the water temperatur was lovely and there were sufficiรซnt bede available.

Summary: We arranged a family holiday with 6 Adults and 5 grandchildren and our first impression of the place was very good David & Caroline welcomed us and explained all the facilities to us and were available in support during our stay. The accommodation was very suitable and met all of our needs. The living space was good with both dining and sitting areas that were used extensively Wi Fi and TV were good and range of games and DVD's helpful. The outside games areas were ideal with all of the children and some adults using the trampoline while the pool area was great being both clean and secure for all the family. The local farmer was very friendly and welcomed us allowing to walk around and even invited us to visit his dairy and see the new born calves. We spent most of our time on site as it catered for all our needs. local supermarket is near and well stocked so easy to use for self catering needs. BBQ worked well with outside seating making it easy to watch over the children. We would be happy to visit again and will recommend this property to friends and family. All in all good value for money.

Summary: Beautiful peacefull and spacious property in the Brittany country side. You are far enough away but not to far to go and explore your surroundings area. Supermarket 5 to 10 mins away. You have everything you need in your home. We throughly enjoyed our stay. We loved to explore and we also like to relax and staying here definitely was ideal for us. We had 3 small kids every thing is child friendly and they loved it. Pool is fantastic grounds around are fantastic Carolyn and David where lovely people who where there if you needed them but give you free course off the area. Highly recommend to anyone looking to just get away from it all but still not to far from places to go see and explore.
