3 Bedroom House in Lake Okareka, Rotorua

With a spacious living area and enough beds for all the family, this is the perfect place to base your next adventure.
Open plan, sunny living area that includes two separate sitting areas and a dining table. It has both a large fireplace and a heat pump for rainy days.
One end of the house has a spacious master bedroom (Queen bed) with an attached sunroom, kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. The other end of the house has two bedrooms, one with a Queen bed and the other with bunks (double on bottom, single on top), and a bathroom.
Large deck with a BBQ. Outdoor bath on a separate deck for relaxing under the stars. Outdoor wood BBQ with outdoor seating in the backyard.
Child friendly with toys, highchair and a portacot.
Dogs are welcome and the property is fully fenced.
Boat parking available (please contact us to arrange this).
5 mins walk to the jetty at beautiful Lake Okareka. 5 mins drive to Lake Tikitapu (Blue Lake), 10 mins drive to Lake Tarawera, 10 mins drive to the main entrance of Redwoods forest. 15 minutes drive to the middle of Rotorua.
Okareka is a beautifully peaceful little community with many beaches and walks to explore.
Please note: this booking is for the entire upstairs of the house. Permanent tenants live downstairs in a self contained flat. The tenants have their own separate driveway and entrance, and there is no internal stairway. We have endeavoured to make sure both our guests and our tenants have privacy.

Summary: We had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful 3-bedroom Bookabach for 3 nights! The property was clean, incredibly spacious, and offered breathtaking views that truly made it feel like a slice of heaven. The host was fantastic—flexible, responsive, and excellent with communication, which made our experience even smoother. The place also had lots of toys and board games to keep the kids happily occupied, which was a huge bonus. Every corner of the property radiated charm and beauty, making it the perfect getaway. Highly recommend this spot for families or anyone seeking a serene and memorable escape!

Summary: When was younger, I remember staying by lake Rotorua, it was quiet and beautiful. These days Rotorua is so crowded and built-up, its just like any other city. However, this bach is 5 minutes walk from Lake Ōkareka, which was lovely to swim in with my family. It was also close to the Ōkareka walkway, which was another peaceful activity. However, when we wanted to do things in Rotorua, it was only a 15 minute drive, so we had plenty of options. We will certainly be back, and for longer next time.

Summary: My family travel to Rotorua multiple times a year for sports, normally we would stay in motels but thought we try book a Bach and see if it suits, all I can say that if you’re looking for for family accommodation … this is the one you want. The location is quiet (5mins to the lakes) and your surrounded by so much wildlife it’s hard to believe Rotorua town centre is only 10min drive away. The house is perfect as the living and dining areas are huge, the lounge has smart tv for everyone to enjoy as well as toys for the kids and books and board games for the teens. There’s a small seating area also if you need a bit of quiet time or separation from the rest of the family. If that’s not enough there’s a deck with BBQ table/chairs and a outside bath if you want to relax under the stars. The property also has pizza oven/fire place with table/seats, sandpit for the kids and also a spa pool but we didn’t use due to wet weather conditions. The rooms are spacious … one room has bunks for the kids another has kitchen and ensuite and the other has French doors with balcony. Basically there’s enough space here to do whatever you want without disrupting the rest of the family. I can go on and on about this place but it would never do it justices, all I can say if you’re looking for for a home away from home this is the place you need to book … trust me you won’t be disappointed. The host really looked after my family so we rated our stay 9/10 for our 2 night stay
