Summary: Albergo Sala was a unique experience in the small village of Valbrona. It was quiet and not much to do but that's what we were looking for. The staff were excellent and very helpful and the food was wonderful. The inn is historic and has been in the family for a few hundred years! As it is off the beaten track it is advisable to have a car as public transport is infrequent and challenging and taxi service is quite expensive. Aside from that it was a great place to stay a few days.

Summary: Comfortable family run hotel near the lake. My stay was made comfortable by the owner and staff, breakfast was hearty and the room spacious with a comfy bed.

Summary: The negative: 1. The pictures on Hotels.com are misleading. 2. The internet in the room did not work at all, apparently due to the rainy weather. 3. The spa was closed. 4. We never saw any welcome drink. 5. Poor information upon arrival, which led to us not realizing that breakfast was not served from 7:00 AM as it is at other hotels on weekdays, but from 8:00 AM. The positive: The view was fantastic. Parking was free and the breakfast was okay.

Summary: A very nice two star hotel close to the mountains and the Como lake. The service and personel are very helpful and we had a extremly good dinner with som great Piemonte red wine.

Summary: I stayed at this hotel for one night as I was passing through. It’s a small village and not much to do, but a 10 minute drive and you’ll be down by the lake where there’s a restaurant you can eat and drink at - but you’ll need to drive there. The hotel was nice, the view lovely, the staff super nice - but there was no airconditioning which was terrible as it was extremely hot. I was not able to sleep well because of this. They were so kind and gave me a free glass of wine the first evening before heading down to the lake.
