This is the result of the uncertainty following the storm where some property owners elected to participate in the government buy out of lots that fell in what later would be considered within the vegetation line established by the State of Texas and subsequently included as part of the public beach. Not all property owners participated. Those homes where the property in front of it are part of the buyout are considered beachfront even though to the east or west of it there may be a home closer to the beach.

Perfect location, great floor plan, and furnished with everything you would need. The backyard fence has been upgraded and is easily accessed from the rear stairway. House was very clean, well appointed and loving the newer towels Cobb had in the linen package. It was the perfect house for us and we would rent it again if it was available when we come.

It was easy to Clean up for check out. The white furniture was a challenge with my Dog babies though.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin is front row, and it is well designed and well maintained. The only real complaint that I have is that I do NOT want to have to have a battle with technology when I'm on vacation. The thermostat for controlling the A/C was completely indecipherable. It was simply a white dome with a glass front, like one's smart phone. But tapping on the front glass did not activate the thermostat. There was no writing on the sides of the thermostat or any other indication as to how to make an adjustment to the temperature. We spent the first night in an uncomfortably warm house. It was a frustrating experience, and not a good start to our vacation. I called the rental office the next morning, and the young lady that helped me was very friendly, but even she did not know how to work the thermostat and had to ask a colleague for instructions. It turns out that in order to adjust the thermostat, one has to tap on the side of it to get it to "come to life." After I did this, it was still difficult to adjust the temperature. All of this could have been avoided if the homeowner would have simply posted a written procedure on the wall by the thermostat. They had already done the same for the television, but apparently felt no need to help their renters with something as essential as the cabin's temperature control. I am very familiar with computers, phones, thermostats, etc., but this was simply a case of a new piece of technology being "too smart for its own good." No one wants to be given a test / quiz on something as basic as how to work the A/C when one is on vacation. Think of your guest and quit trying to install the latest and the greatest in technology. Basic is better when it comes to gadgets that others have to use.

Summary: This is such a charming two bedroom that I would consider buying it. Had a few maintenance problems with the electrical systems (broken breaker for the heater, thrown breaker for the hot water heater) but the staff was amazingly responsive. I am afraid I may have left some ice cream in the freezer--please don't downmark me as a renter for that? Will rent this unit again

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I rent homes fairly often at Crystal Beach, and this was one of my favorites. There were a couple things that could be improved, such as the TV's. I don't think they're smart TV's because I couldn't "cast" from my phone. It was difficult to figure out how to watch anything other than the minimal channels on Direct TV that were available. We normally don't watch a lot of TV while at the beach but it was raining all day the first day we were there, plus the Astros playoff games had started. The other thing is we couldn't get the hot water to work in the hall bathtub. We finally figured out that is was backwards from what is considered normal. Also, the dryer was extremely loud. However, I will most definitely rent this home again.

This is a pretty and comfortable home with amazing beach views. We also enjoyed the small fenced yard for our fur baby.
