6 Bedroom Ski Chalet in Ellicottville, Franklinville

Relax by the fire in the serene environment of this rustic country home located on 5 acres of private wooded land boasting breathtaking views of the rolling hills of Cattaraugus County. With over 2,700 square feet of living space this chalet is perfectly located just 7 miles from the center of Ellicottville or 8 miles from the slopes and golf courses at Holiday Valley and Holimont Ski Resorts.
The Chalet was built in 2007 and has five bedrooms plus a loft. It has a large two story Great Room with a wall of windows and open concept floor plan into the kitchen/dining room with plenty of seating. There are 3 full bathrooms and 6 bedrooms, sleeping up to 18 guests. The outdoor deck is an entertainers’ dream with over 800 square feet of added living space overlooking the tear drop shaped pond. The bright walkout basement is complete with a pool table, large flat screen TV, built in bar with beer fridge, and games nook. At the end of your busy day, have a soak in the covered outdoor hot tub and enjoy the view!
This chalet can be enjoyed all year round. The area is famous for its winter activities including skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tubing and snowmobiling. In summer there is golf, tennis, hiking, and challenging mountain biking in the immediate area. Holiday Valley Resort nearby has added a Sky High Adventure Park and 3 outdoor pools with a water slide.
For winter rentals, snow tires and all-wheel or four-wheel drive on your vehicle is highly recommended as there is a steep hill on our street (plowed and sanded regularly). Please note: Friday and Saturday nights must be booked together, thank you.

Summary: This was our second time as a group staying here. Had a great time as usual. Place was clean and organized. Would have liked to have the porch available to use but due to the snow understand that was not an option. Overall, great time and look forward to renting again next year.

Summary: Although I was a little anxious for the check-in data, it came with plenty of time to check in. The property owner obviously cares to provide a great experience while staying at the Rooster's Den. Everything was just as advertised-this property is large, comfortable and well maintained. I would definitely stay at the Rooster's Den again.

Summary: What a wonderful house! It truly felt like a cabin getaway. The house comfortably accommodated our large group and was well-equipped with the essentials. It was conveniently located just minutes from Holiday Valley tubing and 15 minutes from the ski resort. If you're traveling during the winter, I highly recommend a four-wheel-drive vehicle. The hill leading to the house is quite steep and challenging to navigate without one. They thoughtfully provided shovels in the garage, which was incredibly helpful! I highly recommend this property.

Summary: The property wasn’t as clean as it should have been. There was a lot of trash left outside. And the inside needed a deep clean. There were a lot of mice that we heard and actually caught one in the kitchen (we released it back outside and have that on video) There wasn’t enough toilet paper especially since they requested everyone use septic safe toilet paper. Also, you definitely need 4 wheel drive to get up the road to the house.

Summary: Beautiful house perfect for our three generation holiday get-together. The kitchen really does have everything. The hill is well maintained and was no problem for our all wheel drive car but, as the website warns, can be too much for a small front drive car on an icy day.
