Summary: Perfect week of fishing and relaxing on a beautiful Wisconsin lake. Fishing was great off of the dock. Fun local places to explore. We hope to be back.

Summary: Property was very nice and the host was excellent. Close town and lots of good restaurants and wineries. If you have a long boat & trailer (we have a 20' Nitro) the parking for the trailer is a bit tight.

Summary: Our July stay was great fun! This property is everything we could hope for in a month on the lake with our boat, a great views of the lake, great owners, sunsets, and clean lake. We look forward to our stay next year!

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cabin. Wonderful views, just the right distance from the lake, with a dock and boat lift for our inboard/outboard boat. The fishing was fun for our family right off the dock. The 2 person swing near the lake was a great place to read or just enjoy being near the water. The fire ring near the lake was relaxing on a warm summer evening. The owners are friendly, helpful and a pleasure to rent from. We look forward to our stay next summer.

Summary: Our family of 6 had a great week away on Deer Lake staying in Jennifer and Pete's lakeside getaway. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised as the pictures on the website don't to justice to the beauty of the lakeview and the charm of the cottage. The porch that oversees the lake is screened in has a gas firepit and indirect lighting that made late nights on the lake something we really looked forward to. The 4 beds upstairs were a great getaway for a nap and the air conditioning was welcomed during the hot summer day. Our stay was at the end of July, beginning of August which aren't typically peak fishing months but we caught so many huge bluegill and bass it actually got boring catching them so we had to switch bait to catch the more challenging perch and crappie. I can't imagine how incredible the fishing must be here during May and June. We brought our own boat and I would highly recommend that you would too if you want to catch a lot of fish although we did catch a bunch from the dock. Our hosts took great care to make sure we had all we needed to have a great week including a personal tour of the St Croix River and Taylors Falls from Pete, the lists of fun things to do, the crawfishing lessons, the fishing hot spots, and the stories of life on the lake. Jennifer made sure that the cottage was spotless and a relaxing place to eat, rest, and relax. I would not hesitate to recommend these hosts, the cottage, and Deer Lake for your family getaway vacation.

Summary: I hesitate to give a great review because, selfishly, we want it to be available for our next vacation...! A lovely spot on a very quiet lake. Our family had a great time fishing on this very well-stocked lake. This cabin is set into a hill so be prepared to hike up and down stairs to get to the cabin (for those with disabilities). For our next trip we'll make sure to bring a cast iron skillet (works in oven/stove top) baking pans and a few more kitchen items. Great spots to visit while you stay: Fawn-Doe-Rosa (pet a sweet deer, feed a lama) Interstate Park for hiking, Kayak down the St.Croix---many rental spots and if you forget anything there's a great grocery store along with usual Big Box stores. Thank you to the owners of this VRBO for making us feel so welcome.
