Summary: This Colonial Beach house is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and has a great view of the water. The additional bedrooms in the guestroom are helpful for a large family. For those like us, who book this home during the cold months, the space is great for family games, reading, and general relaxation. There is a Walmart about 20-25 minutes away. We found the owners proactive and responsive when we experienced an unfortunate, but very uncommon situation with the rental property. We would consider booking again, anticipating an immaculately cleaned, well-maintained, and appropriately stocked rental.

Summary: Home was perfect. Plenty of space, everything you’d need, and beautiful location. The yard and view of the lake was ideal. Would be great if you could swim, but couldn’t due to jellyfish (though some did swim for a bit without problems). Very nice hiking and historic sites close by. Would highly recommend. Thank you, Hope! (Oh. And though was not expecting a hot tub, getting that in working order would be a wonderful addition!)

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay! We had multiple families and kids ranging from newborn to 18 and everyone had a blast. The owners were awesome with the communication! The only down faults ( which is no fault of the owners) were that is was jellyfish mating season so the water wasn’t swimmable. The teens still jumped in a few times but were stung multiple times. Also there is no where local to rent a boat. You have to go an hour away to rent a boat and getting back to the house would not be a quick trip. Other then that it was a great stay, very relaxing. The kayaks and paddle boards were used so much. Fishing was good. And the house is simply beautiful and so spacious. The town was fun and local beaches were cute and quiet. Great stay overall!

Summary: We were extremely pleased with the accommodations. The house is very nice, has plenty of space and decorated beautifully. We were far enough from town to be able to enjoy the piece and quite but close enough to be at the beach within 10 minutes. The water was calm enough for plenty of kayaking and paddle boarding. We fished quite a bit but only caught one catfish but he was a keeper. We pulled out one of the crab pots but only got one crab the entire week but the kids loved checking it quite often. The only negatives were found was the lack of fans and TVs in the bedrooms. We cooked in a lot and there werent enough pots and pans. Luckily we had people come at different times so we had people bring some. Overall we highly recommend you stay at this home.

Summary: Email was not sent to instruct us on how to enter we also had a AC problem but was handled in a timely manner. Also outdoor grill needs maintenance. But the home was very roomy for five couples and appliances where excellent.

Summary: Our friend group really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of space for cooking, eating, and hanging out. We spent a lot of time outside hanging out by the water and around the fire pit. There were stores nearby to go shop for things needed. The only critique is that the cleanliness in some areas of the house could have been better. Overall, it was a nice place.

Summary: I cannot say enough great thing about our stay here. We have now found our favorite place to stay at Colonial Beach. We loved every minute of it. We never wanted to leave the house. Perfect for every age! We hope to go back next year. You will not be disappointed this place is awesome!!!!

Summary: This home and location provided a beautiful and peaceful space for 9 family members. The access to dock fishing/kayaking/paddle boards was entertainment enough for each day. We were blessed with wonderful weather all week. The only downsides were jellyfish stings and an a/c unit that kept the house too cold. Other than that, it was pretty close to perfect.

Summary: The layout of the house was perfect for 10 adults and 4 kids (all under the age of 3). Having everything on one floor ensured that the children were safe. The open layout allowed for lots of play and relaxation. There were plenty of toys there to keep the kids busy. Those who wanted to get away for a little peace and quiet had the guest house space available. The large kitchen and outdoor grilling area provided enough space for lots of cooking to take place for our large group. There were plenty of utensils, plates, cups, etc for everyone. They even have kid friendly plates and utensils available. Each bedroom had ample space for adults and children. The decor, in general, is simple and modern. The 5 bathrooms are well designed and had just enough towels for our group. The central air was delightful after spending time outside in the 90+ degree heat. While outside, we utilized the fire pit, the paddle boards, the kayaks, and the fenced-in lawn. The water was very quiet and calm. There were rarely any other people out. We did not swim in the water, as it was very brown. Between the view, the water, the space, and the televisions we did not need the internet. A few members of our group did end up using their hotspots in order to do some work while we were there. While the town itself leaves much to be desired, we did end up at Ice House Brewery for some food and trivia on Thursday night. A few members of our group also found the beach in the town to be a nice place to spend an hour or two. We also ventured ten minutes down the road to Ingelside Winery for some snacks and wine. George Washington’s birthplace was a nice place to visit and walk around. Having the Food Lion and an ABC store only a few minutes away made grocery shopping easy. We recommend this house for large groups, especially with children, who are looking to spend some quality time together.

Summary: We celebrated 60, 35 and 30 year anniversaries. the house was perfect for the three couples in the main house and 20 year olds in the guest house. Plenty of space for privacy and group games and dinners. Corn hole, fishing off the dock , kayaks and paddle boards were put to good use. Furniture and decorations were gorgeous and comfy. Only small issues :Wifi was not strong at all, but we used hot spots . Main house hot water was a problem on the 2nd day, we had to reset the tankless water heater. which helped . House could use a blender - but we used the magic bullet for small batches of margaritas. Great yard , view, neighbors. Everyone felt the house was awesome !
