Summary: Not worth the money. I was charged an additional 30 dollars a day for resort fees that wasn’t mentioned at checkin.

Positive: Location was close to ocean and shops, restaurants were in walking distance.
Negative: Not enough daylight in room. Could not open bathroom window or window above ac and windows did not allow sunlight to come through the room . One of the screens was damaged, so we couldn't open the window for some fresh ocean air. The set-up of the room was crowded making it difficult to pass when the other person was making coffee, opening the refrigerator or dresser drawers. The floors were nice, but they didn't seem like they were washed very often because the bottom of our flip flops were filthy dirty. I'm still trying to get them cleaned. Overall, staff was extremely pleasant, friendly and accommodating, but the room was very disappointing. For the price and problems with the room, don"t think we will be staying there again.

Negative: The location – if you stay on the ocean-side of the property – cannot be beat. Wonderful views, access to the Marginal Way walk, and easy to walk to restaurants and shops. On-site rooms that are across the street are certainly not as convenient and have little or no ocean view. Those rooms are highly, highly over-priced, especially factoring in the dated rooms, paper-thin walls, lack of luggage racks or anywhere but the floor to put your suitcase. Robes and slippers is like putting lipstick on a pig – would rather see rooms remodeled or brought up-to-date. Front desk clerk could not explain why invoice was more than what bookings.com had confirmed, putting all the blame on booking through a third party and looking down her nose at us because we didn’t book directly with the hotel – which I explained we did not do because it is more expensive and there is a punitive cancellation policy. Took no accountability and stated that guests booking through bookings.com could NOT have a printed invoice from the hotel. What? I guess so the hotel doesn’t have to explain the extra charges? Exasperating. We also had terrible and slow service at the on-site restaurant.

Negative: Booking.com over booked our stay and we were placed across the street in a room in an old house that the resort supposedly owns. No ocean view, small TV, and wasn't even compensated.

Positive: Staff was warm and welcoming. Check in was so easy. Parking was available and easy to get a spot before we were able to check in. The hotel was so accommodating they upgraded us the Shore Cottage for no charge and sent an amenity to greet our party upon arrival. Thank you Anchorage staff for making our trip so pleasant and unforgettable!
