Positive: Safari met me at the airport, so I didn't get lost finding the premises. He was an exceptional host. I felt like I was in the home of a friend, not a guest at a boutique B&B. Nothing was too much trouble and I have such wonderful memories of my short stay

Negative: It so exceeded my expectations there is nothing I didn't like.

Summary: Pure pleasure. Such a relaxing weekend.

Positive: Beautifully reatored house in the heart of old Lamu. Lots of attention to detail, comfortable rooms, spectacular roof terrace, refreshing plunge pool. Amazing staff who are really friendly, helpful and make you feel at home.

Negative: Nothing - it is in the heart of old town so important to be aware of noise from mosque and neighbours.

Summary: Highly recommended as a beautifully restored traditional house in the heart of old Lamu town.

Positive: house is absolutely beautiful. renovated with great eye for detail. swimming pool. all furniture is so thoughtfully picked as well.

Negative: the ONLY thing that could be better is to cultivate a bit of a community feeling with other guests and staff. it has a bit of hotel vibes rather than house vibes. it could add to the experience.

Positive: Absolutely stunning, beautifully renovated historic Swahili building in the heart of the oldest part of Lamu Town. My suite was complete with the traditional carved grand bed of the mansion, so large it had a step to get up into it; a beautiful terrace with a view over the old town rooftops to the water; gorgeous carved plasterwork, traditional paintwork, and plenty of space and air. Safari the house manager was amazing, so thoughtful, pleasant and responsive to every small request. The dining and lounge floor also lovely, with a pool and comfortable, cool areas to relax. A very special historic property where you can immerse yourself in the grandeur and romance of Lamu's heyday: such a wonderful treat to stay here. I look forward to returning.

Positive: An elegant property with tasteful interiors and benefitting from beautiful bones. Our room was situated on the second floor benefitting from a huge terrace just above and a huge bedroom that had a bed to match fit for royalty. The staff were attentive and with a great knowledge of the area with tours etc. The breakfast was wonderful and staff where always on hand to help. The only tiny was the location. It would have been nice to have been closer to the water front otherwise hard to fault in the car less wonder of a town that time forgot with Donkeys and friendly people. We would return when next in Lamu town.

Negative: The location was a few blocks up from the front but only a short walk down to the waterfront restaurants and the donkeys.

Summary: A very pleasant stay in the most elegant of properties in the charming time capsule of Lamu town
