Negative: the beach was quite disappointing - rather for waling, not swimming (we were visiting in late May)

Positive: - great location - great hosts and communication - beautiful, well equipped apartment - comfy beds - great location - easy check in and check out

Negative: - one bathroom was not fully clean (hair on the floor and some stains on arrival) but otherwise the aprtment was very clean

Positive: There was someone there waiting for us when we arrived, who explained how everything worked and where everything was. Also very helpful in explaining the surroundings (although we didn't need it because we were familiar with the area). The apartment is very spacious, all the appliances are new.

Negative: The central area of Figueira is EXTREMELY noisy ALL NIGHT at that time of the year (August). The windows are double glazed but in the middle of a heat wave we had to keep the open (the apartment does not have AC). The lift is very old and unreliable, but since the apartment is on the 1st floor we ended up using mostly the stairs. These were unfortunate or minor inconveniences, otherwise the review would be a 10.

Positive: Spacious apartment, as a group of four, we felt very comfortable. Close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Having a parking was very convenient as the street parkings were pretty busy.

Negative: The check in and out process should be more simple. There are digital solutions that make everyone’s life easier. We met the building admin to took us to the parking and then showed us to the apartment. Then we met an extremely welcoming and lively lady (the maid, I think) that presented us the apartment without sparing a detail. Her husband, grandkid and the building admin all trying to do the translation for us. In all honesty, we were a bit tired after the road and we would have found the fridge by ourselves and could have skipped the guide on how to use the window blinds. The building door is very tricky to open with the key. You need to find the sweet spot. And since you cannot enter with an access code or mobile app, a double set of keys would have been great.
