Positive: Loved being in (the top of) a little house in a proper historical street of Collioure. We arrived by train (15 min walk from the railway station) and didn’t need a car. The little 2 floor apartment had sufficient facilities to cater for ourselves; and enjoy the Wednesday and Sunday morning markets (10 mins walk away).(Also a convenient supermarket). So beautiful to swim at one of the beaches every day (also 10 min walk) with beautiful views of the historic town .Also easy to walk to the wide range of historical buildings, museums, artists studios etc as well as the multitude of bars and restaurants ( our favourite became the bar and beach beyond the Notre Dame church towards the outer harbour wall and lighthouse). To be able to conveniently return to the air conditioned apartment in between outings was a real luxury. (We had to wait for a cooler day to walk up to the fort on the hill - which provided fantastic views of the town and surroundings up a lovely path, beyond the iconic windmill). And last but not least, Thankyou to Monique who met us shortly after arrival. We had such a jolly time communicating the necessities at least partly in my limited French; set us up for a very happy time in the apartment.
Negative: All was good for us although someone with more limited mobility and/or large luggage might find the 3 (short) flights of stairs up to the apartment a challenge.
