Summary: During a whirlwind tour through Europe, Scassatini was the highlight! Breathtakingly beautiful views, extremely well appointed accommodations, and the most gracious hosts we encountered in all of our travels. We hated to leave, but alas, we plan to return whenever we can. Gitta and Hardy made our whole vacation!!!❤️❤️❤️

Summary: Room was very Tuscan! The bed was very comfortable and room was so cozy. It came with a fully equipped kitchen and shower room with plentiful closet space. We had our own privacy from the side entrance separating the main house from guest house. Parking was easy and the roads were beautiful with scenic drives coming and going from the property. The hosts Gitta and Hardy were beyond wonderful in every way. We were running late the day of arrival and they communicated with us following up on our status hoping we were finding the place ok with detailed instructions of where to find the home and what to do once we parked. They greeted us upon arrival and hosted us the next morning with coffee and great conversation. They shared favorite local spots to eat and visit, as well as good areas to look for properties to purchase, as we were in Italy for the first time searching for homes in Tuscany. We felt so welcome!! Our last evening there we had wine together and they gifted some of their olive oil from their land to my mother to bring home as a gift. We had coffee the next morning before we left and are looking forward to visiting again soon!! I have to say this property exceeded our expectations. It was a dream! We hope to come back and stay during warmer seasons to utilize they’re gorgeous pool and local wine tasting from the neighbors vineyard. I feel as though we have gained some new friends whom are close to our hearts now. Do not hestitate to rent this property. It was worth every penny!

Summary: The appartement is located in the olive hills approx. 20 km from Lucca with beautiful view over the Tuscany landscape. the appartement is small but good equipped. The house is surrouded by a nice garden / Olive trees / etc. and has a pool . The hosts Brigitte und Eberhard are living during our stay in the same house and can give some advices and tips.

Summary: Very nice little appartment in a fantastic area, not too far from Pisa and Florence. Sweet owners who gave us a lot of good advices about where to go eating, shopping ect. Would recommend the place if you’re planning to go to Tuscany.

Summary: A house for two with a fantastic pool. Beautiful view on the hills around Lucca. We felt very welcome, even though the owners weren't present. The kitchen is wel equipped, so cooking is a pleasure. A tasty pasta with some herbs from the garden was delightful. And the possibility to use the grill is nice, that way you can easily prepare some great (local) meat. Many places are easy to visit, e.g. Lucca.

Summary: This was the first time we'd returned to Italy in more than two years, after living there for six. Our expectations were high, not least because Casa Scassatina is really quite close to where we lived. I am delighted to say that these expectations were more than met in the most delightful and unequivocal way! The location is superb; high enough in the Lucchese hills to give you the peace and tranquility you desire from Tuscany whilst affording the most beautiful views, yet not too far from the roads that will take you into Lucca and onto the autostrade for Firenze and all of the main sites in this wonderful part of the country. The apartment was even better than in pictures. The bedroom is very comfortable with a good (international) TV service. The bathroom is very large, as is the shower and the dressing area more than ample even for two people with lots to wear (and more bought!) for two weeks. The living room and kitchen is just right. Perhaps one might like some more sitting space but when there is the gorgeous terrace who wants or needs to stay inside? The kitchen is very good and has everything you need for the meals you prepare in the apartment. It's also exceptionally well-stocked with everything that one can need even a splendid Nespresso coffee machine! All the facilities are excellent; the air-conditioning, lighting, sufficient power-points for everything and there's good - and very easy - wifi. The washing-machine is a wonderful touch, making life even easier there. The terrace is divine and we spent many hours there either dining or just chilling, reading or listening to music. I am not a swimmer but my wife adored the pool which is very well-laid out and private. It made for the easiest and most relaxing of days... Gitta and Hardy are the most welcoming and charming of hosts and their presence is an added bonus. It is as if they have invited you into their home and want to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible, whilst never intruding on your privacy. For the very reasonable sum we paid for two weeks I really don't believe we could have found anything better and I certainly researched much less attractive properties at appreciably higher rates. All in all, a great find, a lovely place to stay and one that I simply cannot recommend high enough! And our dogs loved it too!!
