Arenal Springs Villas by the Lake is the Most Magnificent and Pristine Property in the Arenal Lake area of Costa Rica. Temperatures here are the most comfortable in Costa Rica. The daily highs are in the low to mid 80's and the nightly lows are in the mid to high 60's years round. There are Four separate beautiful homes of differing personalities. Beautiful Pool with more magnificent views. All homes are fully equipped for cooking and have television with DVD players and movies available.
Lake access is available with kayak and canoe rentals. Fishing is great and charters are close by. There are many restaurants in the area for your dining pleasure. We have connections for tours, rental cars, etc.
We are so conveniently located if you want the flavor of getting the most out of your vacation. We are only 40 minutes from the Arenal Volcano (which is active and may be seen from our property. Also, 40 minutes to the Tabacon Hot Springs. The Beaches of Flamingo, Coco and Ocatal are less than two hours. Locally is Wind Surfing, Horseback Riding, Butterfly Exhibits, Biking, Canoeing, Fishing, Lake Tours, Canopy and Adventure Tours, ATV Tours and on and on.
Liberia Airport is only 90 minutes from our site. There is a Spectacular Mountain Route to San Hose the Capitol that is a three and a half hour drive. Waterfalls, swimming holes, coffee plantations, Flora farms, native fruit stands, and quaint little villages. Native restaurants with local cuisine will cost a family of four less than $20. A recent party of four from New York was to stay for one night and extended it by a day five times. His comment was that we were in the best location for someone to fulfill all the entertainment and sight seeing and that they did not need to relocate. The convenience of our location was so outstanding that they could go in different directions each day and have a great time without a plan when they began their morning.

Summary: The property was stunning. We were a party of 14 and used all of the villa's. The hill to get to the top house was a steep one but made for a good workout. The houses were all filled with towels, toilet paper and soap and were all very clean. Maria helped with each and every request and question we had making our visit a spectacular one.

Summary: Tropical paradise. There are four separate villas on this property. We rented all four, but you may rent them separately. Maid service is provided for fresh linens during your stay. The host speaks English and Spanish and is warm, welcoming, and helpful. We opted not to rent a car, and the host arranged for van transport for us for day trips to La Fortuna and LaPaz. And also to and from the airport. All the villas are well equipped, clean, and quaintly furnished. One thing to be aware of is that two of the villas are at the top of a pretty steep hill, and the other two are further down. Both have beautiful views of Lake Arenal, but if your party is using both, be aware that it is a challenging trek up that driveway. We were eight 70 year olds, and we were able to do it, but something to be aware of. (The pool is near the bottom two villas.). All in all, we absolutely loved this place.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at the Arenal Springs Villa. The property is even more beautiful than the photos, and Thomas, Maria, and their team are so kind and helpful. One day a few members of our group were taking a walk around the property and the gardener cut down fresh grapefruit for them. It made their whole trip! The property is about an hour away from the major Arenal attractions, but the drive is beautiful, and it was worth it for us to be able to stay altogether in such a beautiful villa.

Summary: Let me start off by saying this property is absolutely stunning, the grounds are located on a beautiful hillside that overlooks Arenal Lake. We were a group of 13 and occupied the Casa Primera & Casa Grande. A true getaway, we felt totally secluded. The host was very helpful and gave me suggestions on things to do and the info for a private chef. There is nothing close by so the private chef was one of the best recommendations, Chef Nixon was phenomenal! If you want a private quiet getaway look no further. The home has a lovely pool and there is good hiking areas all around. Speaking of getting around the closest “grocery” store is about a 10 minute drive. There are cabs, however they can be a bit pricey. We hired shuttles to take us back and forth. If you want to go anywhere, rent a car or schedule shuttles ahead of time. As mentioned cabs are pretty readily available but for large groups may prove difficult to find. A group of 4 of us needed to run to the closest store, the cost was $40 round trip. We decided to do a few excursions in the area (waterfall rappelling, white water rafting and thermal pools). All the excursions we chose were located closer to Fortuna, which is about 1.5 hour drive away. More about the home: sparkling clean w beautiful design and architecture. Lots of kitchen essentials (plates, utensils, cups, coffee maker). Pool and bath towels. And a washer and dryer in each home. You also get great exercise walking up and down the steep hill to go from house to house. There is also a hot tub that would have been lovely to use during our stay, however it was broken the whole time we were there.

Summary: I would like to say that the property is great. If you are a big family then you have 3 different villas and small room with bath that can satisfy your needs. They are a little further apart but walkable if you are a hiker. The host is awesome and always available. Only bummer was there was no internet throughout the stay and you have bring your own shampoo and conditioner. Also this listing is about an hour away from arenal downtown and hence we had to shuttle and lose 2 hours everyday that we wanted to go to arenal for activities.

Summary: We were a group of 18, aged from 3 to 78 y/o, and we occupied all 4 villas. All of the houses were clean and well-kept. One thing to note is that the main kitchen is well stocked with dinnerware and glasses but a little less so for pots, pans etc. if you plan on cooking for a large group. Maria was excellent; she provided caterers for meals at the house, reservations for all of us at restaurants in the area, and provided great tour recommendations. We went to the Springs Resort and it was incredible! We also did some mountain biking, horseback riding, ziplining, and canyoning. They were all great with the canyoning being the most memorable! There were a few things that were less than ideal. It turned out the hot tub wasn’t working when we arrived, and they were not able to repair it during the week of our stay. This was quite disappointing since having access to a hot tub was part of the reason we booked this property. Also, we had a lot of trouble with the internet at either of the houses at the top of the hill (Casa Grande & Casa Bella Vista). That being said, it was still a great property and an amazing experience!

Summary: A variety of properties in a gated area viewing Lake Arenal. Was a little disappointed that there was no AC. Our hostess explained that at the altitude we were at the nights were in the 60s. Combined with the ceiling fans we were pretty comfortable. The views of Lake Arenal were fabulous and the jungle like rain forest was magical. Hard rains can happen without warning day or night but the result is foliage that defies description. Furnishings were beautiful and functional. The big house was amazing to say the least. All were nicely equipped throughout. But the experience was made extra special by the warmth and generosity of Tom and Maria. We became friends in a short period of time.

Summary: This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. We were a group of 17, including three that are 7 and under. We were able to visit beautiful national parks nearby. However, one of my family's absolutely FAVORITE thing to do, was to sit outside in the patio, overlooking the rolling hill and beautiful gardens. Every day we would see several toucans, parrots, humming birds and many other birds. From the property, you can also see monkeys playing in the trees. This was all an absolute treat! Our family hired a chef to cook breakfast and dinner at the property. This worked out great for us, since our large group did not need to worry about finding restaurants that would cater to such a large group at once. Mary and Tom were great hosts and helped us with all we needed. Check-in and check-out was super easy! This is a great place to visit! We highly recommend it!

Summary: We had nine adult family members celebrating a milestones for aging parents in their 80s. Also, we had a full-time guide and driver. Ample space. Stunning views. Catered Chef provided a delicious barbecue dinner banquet! Tom and Marie were delightful hosts. Since our van could not make it up to the top house, they shuttled us back-and-forth every time we left and returned. The only reason we gave this beautiful home and property four stars instead of five was because of the inadequate Wi-Fi.
