2 Bedroom Apartment in Spoleto

Spacious and well-appointed apartment has a principal bedroom with en-suite bath with shower enclosure. Second bedroom has either single or two twin beds with en-suite bath with shower enclosure. Full alcove kitchen in central living area has all appliances, dishwasher, full range of cooking equipment. Living area has table for 6 to 8, all tableware. Washer and dryer in principal bathroom. All located off quiet central courtyard. Lots of light, fully decorated and very convenient to all of central Spoleto with quick access via underground alternative mobility routes to outer town and parking. Please note the second bedroom can also be made up with a double bed if preferred; the resulting walking room at one corner will be quite narrow. Fast Wifi throughout.
If you would like an additional bedroom for a group of more than four people, please let us know as we also have available a small studio apartment located off the adjacent inner courtyard.

Summary: On the advice of my Italian dentist in Melbourne, my daughter (54) and I (87) decided to spend a week in Spoleto. Our delightful accommodation was spacious supplied with everything we required and was within a few minutes walk to the main piazza. My eldest son was also able to join usfor a few days in accommodation close by. What a bonus. Spoleto is a charming little town and we explored everywhere on foot except for a lunch in the hills which required a taxi. It is a place laden with history, friendly people, fabulous food, interesting shops and quaint and narrow streets. No hoards of tourists either!!! It was an absolutely wonderful and special time. Never to be forgotten. Thank you.

Summary: Spacious, well-appointed, set-back from street, light filled, and quiet. You'd never know you were in a busy urban neighborhood very close to Spoleta's central landmarks. We had glitches with our old-school navigation; Sophie was very patient. A glitch with the clothes dryer; Sophie had back-up. Very nice place.

Summary: I went to Spoleto to work on a book and this apartment was ideal. Quiet but centrally located. Comfortable and spacious. The main room features a well-stocked kitchen and a long table that served as my work station and dining room. The bonus is the art on the walls, original drawings by the great minimalist, Sol LeWitt. My wife joined me after a week and was enchanted as well. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat! Highly recommended.

Summary: Sophie was very professional, helpful and responsive to work with. She sorted out the parking situation very well for us. We didn’t have the opportunity to use the outdoor spaces but in the warmer months they would be a big plus. I will be pleased to recommend the property to friends.

Summary: Host went out of her way to ensure we could check in even though we arrived late. She responded quickly when we had a query. The property is really well equipped with pleasant furnishing. The courtyard and sun terrace were great to have available. House was cool in summer heat and courtyard shady. Location was quiet and peaceful. Spoleto is a lovely small town, not very busy with tourists, but interesting places to explore. Train line gives access to other towns including Assisi and Perugia. There are some great hillside walks among trees from Spoleto into the hills. Property location is just nearby a town square with shops where you can get supplies (including local cheeses, hams, salami, wine ...). In summary, we really enjoyed trying local food, exploring Spoleto and other towns via rail, a walk in the hill, relaxing and exploring Spoleto and resting in the peaceful property. We stayed for a week, but would have enjoyed staying longer!

Summary: We used the Artist's Retreat as a base for doing some of the woodland walks around Spoleto. Despite unseasonably wet weather - or maybe even because of it - the charms of Spoleto felt unspoilt and ours to enjoy. The apartment itself is a tasteful mix of the old and the new. It also has a really well-equipped kitchen (love those sharp knives!). In fact, the quality and availability of the local produce and wine (for example, lovely fresh cima di rapa from the shop round the corner), and the attraction of the kitchen, meant we happily settled for home-cooking for three out of the four nights. The apartment itself is spacious and well maintained. It also has an efficient central heating system and hot water system - so it would presumably make a good choice all-year round. We also enjoyed the original artworks and ceramics in the apartment. It has a small terraced area outside with chairs - not that we got a chance to use it (instead, we made full use of the appartment's range of umbrellas). The owner Sophie is attentive but discreet. She obviously wanted to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay in Spoleto a rewarding one - starting with a nice bottle of local white wine. We have no hesitation in recommending the Artist's Retreat to fellow travellers. NB - The Ponte delle Torre viaduct is still under repair following the 2016 earthquake. Walks that rely on the viaduct for access currently require a short diversion.
