Positive: The host gave me such a warm and thoughtful welcome. He offered cold water and a coconut soda — something unique that I hadn’t seen elsewhere — as a welcome gesture. He also explained the local transportation options and nearby markets, and later prepared fried banana with juice as a snack for me and the other guests — a small but meaningful moment that made me feel truly cared for. The location is excellent — close to the airport and within walking distance of bus stops that take you both to the northern beaches and to Baby Beach. The room was very clean, well organized, and had everything I needed: iron, hairdryer, a desk to work from, a comfortable bed, clean towels, soap and shampoo, a small stove, and a mini fridge.

Negative: Nothing — everything was great.

Positive: Friendly owner, this is a simple room that provides a budget alternative to the expensive hotels. Just note, this is more like an air b n b, you are in your own room (with a seprate entrance) but it is a part of someone's home. It is not a hostel etc. You also have your kitchenette and fridge which is nice.

Negative: No hot water for the shower.

Positive: Host was very communicative and kind. Very detail oriented. Socket close to bed with standard USA outlet. Air conditioning. Good central location to explore each area of the island. Two blocks from nice grocery store with bakery, sandwiches, etc. Parking on street. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe. Facility was comfortable. Plenty of storage, shelving. Clean. Good value for price. Outdoor seating area.

Negative: Some smells in room were unpleasant to me.

Positive: The room was large, clean and had everything I needed (full kitchen, refrigerator, full bathroom, AC, etc). There was also a cute outdoor kitchen on the patio and an option to have the host cook meals for you when you don't feel like cooking! The bus stop is a 30 second walk away, as well as multiple grocery stores.I had a car rental to easily go wherever I wanted, and it felt like coming home every day. The host gave great advice about where to eat, swim, rent cars etc!

Positive: I stayed in the single room (The Office) and loved my stay. The single bed was pretty comfortable, the shower was great and the table, desk and chairs in the room were very helpful. The A/C works very well and importantly is very quiet. The whole unit is self contained with its own entrance, kitchen, bathroom and living area. The kitchen has everything you need to be able to cook properly as there are pots, pans, 2 sets of dishes and cutlery and things like a strainer i.e. everything you might need. The fridge is a good size too. The location is about a half hour walk from the airport but further from town or the beaches and with the cost of taxis on Aruba, I would recommend hiring a car. Host Herbert was very friendly, helpful and easy to chat with. He communicated quickly and fully at all times both online and in person. He even lent me a low plastic chair so i could sunbathe with the waters lapping my ankles. He really wants you to enjoy your stay so if you need something you just need to ask.

Negative: Would have preferred a larger bed as I find single beds a bit narrow.

Positive: This is an ideal place to stay in Aruba for those who are adventurous, would like to explore the island independently, and who wish to see many places around, rather than just a local beach next to a resort. The accommodation is next to a bus stop that goes to San Nicolas and the center of Oranjestad, close to a big supermarket that also offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and also walking distance to Hooiberg, an impressive mountain that offers a view of Venezuela from its peak in good visibility. The host is incredibly hospitable, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the island. The place is very clean and well organized. An excellent value for money.
