Positive: If you have a car, location is excellent with a separate Onsen only steps away, where they offer public and private rooms. It's also convenient to get to the trails of Mt Aso and other local sightseeing. The home itself if wonderful with 2 bedrooms upstairs (1 western, 1 tatami mats), and a full bath on main level with kitchen, dining, living, and many electronics available to use. They are even very generous with some supplies in the refrigerator (which we greatfully used as we forgot to buy Mayo at the store) and access to some shochu (which we conservatively sampled a few of the open bottles). The views are wonderful and we were there in the autumn and you could see the colors of the valley. We would HIGHLY recommend. We did exploring and hiking during the day and returned home to Onsen and then end the day with board games. It was perfect!
Negative: Everything was great. As a non-Japanese, it was a bit of work to learn the home's systems and how they function (water heater, bluetooth, and such) but we figured it out and hope we left everything in good condition.
Summary: A well supplied and comfortable retreat near an Onsen and Mt Aso trails and sites.

Positive: The house has good outdoor space with chairs and BBQ pit facing Mt Aso. Fully equipped BBQ tools for free, kotatsu table and heathen pot area good for family gathering too.. Kitchen is quite well equipped, with enough cutleries and crockery. Bedrooms are functional and comfortable. The bathtub has auto water heating feature. Sufficient heating and lighting to feel very comfortable.
Negative: Kitchen space a bit tight. The staircase leading up to the bedrooms is narrow, elderly needs to be careful though hand rails along the wall are helpful for safety. Bedrooms sound proofing not so great, bathtub is tight for 2 persons. Pricing is not so value for money.
Summary: Comfortable stay for family.

Positive: Homey stay. They have everything you need even nintenso, karaoke, and some drinks. Great for having quality time with family and friends.
Negative: No toilet / bathroom on the second floor so you’d have to walk down. Elderly people need to be aware.

Positive: - very big and spacious - very convenient to cook by ourselves as the kitchen is well equipped - very nice view - big sitting room for family gathering - very easy to find by google map - very clean bedding - very nice staff and very responsive to our issue
Negative: - only two bedrooms. Each bedroom can fit around 3 adults only. Good thing is that it is warm enough to sleep in sitting room. - the electricity went off suddenly for a few times as we turn on heaters for the whole house including sitting room and bedrooms. The weather is very cold. The electricity works fine after we turn off the shower hot water heater
