Positive: Love the location. Away from everything but close enough to Gouda for shopping or dinner. Host were very nice. Breakfast was good. They supply a basic breakfast, bread, cheese, butter and jam. They also have a full breakfast available for additional cost. They also have dogs, not allowed inside the BnB but nice to get some puppy loving. There is also a very sweet cat. This is like a working farmhouse without the farm

Negative: Beds were a little uncomfortable. Maybe time to replace them. They give you earplugs for the roosters who like to talk. We didn't use them but they can be quite loud in the early morning.

Positive: Rural location made this charming apartment most appealing. Ron and Tienke are so welcoming and helpful. The apartment is behind their property, accessed up a garden path. It's just one large room with a separate shower and loo talking up one corner off a small hallway. There is a fridge, a kettle and a coffee machine. The rest of the room has a large dining table, a small coffee table and 2 comfy chairs. Also the comfiest enormous bed. I didn't want to leave it! Nice little touches like the earbuds provided to drown out the enthusiastic cockerel next door were most welcomed. Continental breakfast arrived whenever we chose and always had a floral touch. The two labradors were not allowed in the apartment but Nina greeted us every morning.

Negative: A non slip mat and/or grab rails for the shower would be helpful. We experienced a power cut one evening which Ron quickly identified and fixed it. The room is full of Tienke's art and sculpture. It's lovely but I was a little freaked in case I broke anything as they were quite valuable. The built in alarm clock (the cockerel) might disturb some folks. We found him amusing.

Summary: A little slice of heaven.
